Kapitel 36: Chapter 36

Joe slipped into the woods. Would be better if he could wait for daylight, but if Jim was alive, he wouldn't be by morning. The cold had no mercy.

Joe followed the snow mobile tracks through the forest. Someone had taken time to drive all over the place. Trying to confuse things. He didn't get here until after hearing through one of his friends in the volunteer fire department. ‘Jim Dalrymple,' his friend had said, ‘gone missing in the bush.'

Joe told Tom to watch for Leigh and let her know he was looking for her husband then he'd headed out to where the search was winding up. Everyone else went home like they'd been told. Joe had never been good at doing what he was told, one reason he wasn't popular with the cops.

He wasn't doing it for the cops. He was doing this for the people who'd helped him put his family back together.
