Kapitel 163: The Nobless of Grace.
"Depressing week?" Erisviel asked sitting beside Nyx at the poker table.
Sorting the poker chips, Nyx replied.
"Tell me about it! Lyle tried to pin some dirt on my aunt, so successfully managed to block that attack from Lyle. Then he tried to send assassins to kill my aunt. Luckily, Timothy was beside her when it happened. Went back to the Prince manor to sort some stuff, then Ian suddenly notified that the new batch is ready. So I replaced my security team entirely. Max got triggered but my words hurt him more than what I did. Then Julian finally came to tell me about the Grace but it was too late for him. If it weren't for Ana, I would have fallen sick from exhaustion again. Eris, I'm mentally tired! Sooner or later it will affect Aaron too. With him dating Li Hwa, I don't want her to see that weak side of him. Also, Erina managed to get us some valuable information on the Sacred families and clans." Nyx explained Erisviel about her weekend as she split the poker chips evenly to 7 portions.
"Take a break before you have a meltdown, Nyx!" Erisviel said looking at her best friend seriously.
"I wish I could but it's not easy Eris."
Zulkernyn and Ian joined as Nyx sighed.
"Well, Star City is done. The list of names that everyone provided have been screened, processed and recruited! I'm moving on from Star City to Stardust City. I don't think it will take much time considering we already have people there. What do you say, guys? Me and Zulkernyn probably can take Stardust City in a couple of weeks." Ian said placing cans of beers and cola on the table.
"Sounds good to me, Stadust City is completely run by a single organisation. They are on the top of the ladder in the country, if we can take the city in matters of weeks and defend against them. It won't be much of a hassle." Nyx said thinking for a minute.
*ptsss*
Popping up a can of cola, Zulkernyn looked at his friends and seriously said.
"I think I made a mistake letting that idiot live!"
"?" Ian.
"Who?" Nyx.
"The idiot as in the nutcase, who cut off his arm to pledge his loyalty to you?" Erisviel asked.
Muttering a curse under his breath, he complained to his mates.
"That guy is creepy and a nutcase!" Zulkernyn said scrunching his face.
"What did he do?" Ian.
"He seemed fine to me." Nyx.
"Tell." Erisviel.
"That guy has a tattoo of my 'Death' mark." Zulkernyn.
"So?" Ian.
"He also has a bracelet pendant with the 'Death' mark."
"Sounds normal, maybe he's just a fan bro." Ian.
"That guy wears all black priest clothes and worships a stone pillar with my 'Death' mark." Zulkernyn.
"..." Nyx.
"..." Erisviel.
"Bro, now that's creepy!" Ian.
"Other than being a nutcase worshipping me, he is good at what he does. But he preaches his subordinates about his 'God Death' all the time." Zulkernym sighed as he talked about his fanatic subordinate Zhirkov.
As Zulkernyn was telling Zhirkov's deeds, the others also arrived.
"I will be dealing the cards so I'm out of the first few games. Aaron will play though." Nyx said shuffling the cards.
Everyone started talking about their day and what's going on with their life as they play poker.
"Well, now we have some valuable information on the Grace family and the Aurier family. The Grace family is known for their secrets as they are a family of secret keepers and contract dealers. But we have more information about the Aurier family since they are an honest bunch of idiots but deceiving foxes. It's not much but at least we have something before our rite of passage." Nyx said dealing the cards.
"I already have uploaded the details on our group server. You guys can check it out so I will go through the important stuff here."
"The Grace family as we all know, never go back on their words. They are also known as 'Contractors'.
A 'Grace' would rather die than break a promise that has been made.
They will take secrets to the graves. No matter what, a 'Grace' will never break a vow."
"Take Julian as an example. I'm his 'Mistress' yet he won't tell me anything about the Grace family. He is bound to the laws that everyone in the Grace family follows."
"The top hierarchy of the Grace family is like this. At the top sits the family head. Under him are the four-season of grace. But even the four seasons have a hierarchy among them. Especially, the leader of the four seasons. The leader of the four seasons is the 'First Grace of Winter'. Think of it like this in terms of status and power, the First Grace of Winter is second to the leader of the Grace family. But recently, for the past couple hundred years. The First Grace of Winter is assigned to someone who has equal status to the family head. I will get on to it later, but first I want to finish informing about the seasons."
"The Second Grace of Spring is in charge of internal affairs of the Grace family. Everything that goes inside the Grace family is under its management. It answers to the First Grace of Winter like the rest of the seasons. The Third Grace of Summer is in charge of external affairs. Similar to the Second Grace of Spring, everything that happens outside of the Grace family is under its management. The Fourth Grace of Autumn is in charge of all security of the Grace family."
"Similar to the candidate system on other families, the position of the leader of the Grace family is passed down to the best candidate that proves him or herself through the selection process of inheritance."
"However, everything aside, there's a twist in the family hierarchy. It's something they share with the Aurier family as the Aurier's also have the same system minus the seasons."
"It's the title of the Nobless!"
"And my mother, Rose Monique Prince. She was the Nobless of Grace!"
"I'm the future Nobless of Grace." Nyx said with a tired smile on her face looking at her friends and family.
The most complicated background in the group of misfit belongs to Nyx.
Not only she has to deal with the Prince family, Lyle Prince, the Aurier family her mother's maternal family and now the Grace family.
Nyx has a weird feeling in her heart that it's not the end of her background revelation.
Who knows what might comes her way in the future, the God of fate likes to play with her a lot so he probably has a lot of shi**y stuff ahead of her.
