"That's why I told you... brother would never fall for you because he loves someone else. And he's doing this act because he wants you to stay away and he won't force himself on you, wanting not to hurt you as well."

Levin's words cut her heart like a knife. Despite being Love's Overseer who would help people in their love lives, his words were meant to break her--merciless.

He knew from the start that the two won't ever be dating and even though he kept telling Eleonor before.

He intentionally said his thoughts straight, knowing that it would really hurt her. 

And it did... it left her sitting, hopeless--knowing that Devin had fallen in love with a human servant. 

"Wh-why?"

"Devin himself doesn't know. It just happened," Levin answered in all honesty, not hesitating. "It's just how love works."
