Kapitel 183: A Promise with the Old Man

"I'm sorry but... I have declined the operation."

With his words hitting everyone like a grenade has been thrown on them putting them off guard, everyone's face, except Devin's and Ivar's, were aghast. 

During his check-up a while ago, the doctor told Devin and Ivar that Gladios could undergo a procedure to unblock the vessels that supply the heart. But with the old man knowing from their master that he would die in a few days, he decided not to undergo the operation, surprising everyone with his decision. 

"What?"

Edwin was the first one to react. He walked towards him, his eyebrows furrowed in great worry. 

"Why would you ever say that?! This operation would help you to—"

"How, my dear friend?" Gladios looked at Edwin, a sad smile appearing on his face. "If I were to die in a few days, what good could it make? It will just be a waste of money."
