On his way to the hospital, he recalled his conversation with his parents several days ago.
"What are you guys doing here?" Jacob asked.
"Is it wrong to visit my son now?"
"No, but it's not normal for you guys to suddenly visit me," Jacob said as he sat on the sofa. He crossed his legs and looked at his parents, "Now tell me, what is it that you want?" he asked.
"I'll get straight to the point Jacob," his father started, "You're about to get married next month," he said.
Jacob raised his brows upon hearing what his dad said. Who's getting married?
"The Lockwood and Smith family has decided to secure ties with each other with the condition that you must marry their daughter Valerie Smith," his dad explained.
"Look at me thinking that you've finally cared for me," Jacob suddenly chuckled, "It's all for the business after all," he smiled sadly.
"Don't start with the drama Jacob, all that we do is all for your sake," his mom said.
"No mom, it's all for YOUR sake,"
"We didn't teach you to be disrespectful Jacob!" his father scolded him.
"First of all, you were never there to teach me anything so please don't use that line on me. Second of all, I'm not marrying whoever that woman from the Smith family is. My heart only belongs to Sabrina," Jacob said then turned to leave.
"Leave and let's see what happens to Sabrina," his mother threatened.
Jacob's steps immediately halted as soon as he heard what his mother had said. He turned around and looked at his mother in disbelief, "Really? You'll go threatening me now?" he raised his brows.
"Did you know that Sabrina is signed under Valerie's company? What do you think will happen to her if this gets to the Smith family? If they wanted, they could easily destroy her like an ant. Is that what you want for her?"
Sabrina's ultimate dream was to reach the peak of the entertainment industry. Acting was her passion and more than anyone else, Jacob knew that she had worked hard to reach to where she was right now.
"Think about it Jacob. If you marry Valerie, you will be able to open more opportunities for Sabrina with the use of her company, don't you like that?"
Jacob was originally ready to answer back, but after what his mom had said, he suddenly fell into a deep thought. His mom had a point. If he were to marry that woman, he could help Sabrina to rise in her career, but it also meant that he had to let her go.
His mind had clashing thoughts about this topic. He loved Sabrina, but at the same time he also wanted to help her make her dreams come true. What should I choose?
"Destroy her or help her, that easy Jacob," his mom said.
"Do I have any choice?" he questioned, "It sucks to be me," he said in a melancholic tone.
"It's good you know how to prioritize," his mom stood up along with his dad, "I want you to cut ties with Sabrina immediately. If I hear that the both of you are still in contact, then prepare yourself for what will happen to that little entertainer," she spoke, then turned around to leave.
Jacob punched his wall angrily. His parents are too much! Stripping their own son of the freedom to love?
Who does that!
Ever since he was a kid, his parents were always controlling of him. Their decision always comes first and not his feelings. He was always forced to do things he didn't want to.
He was a kid that grew up lacking parental love. All his life, he lived with a leash on his neck held by his parents.
Sabrina was the only person who made him feel the love he longed for so many years. Ever since he met her, life felt less horrible for him.
She made him happy. Truly happy.
But now he has to let her go.
"It's for her sake Jacob, you can't ruin her dream," he whispered to himself.
In the hospital.
"Sabrina you're finally awake! How are you feeling?" Marga asked worriedly.
"I'm fine.. my head.. just hurts a bit," she answered while trying to sit. Marga immediately helped her.
"What happened out there? Why did you suddenly get into an accident?" Marga asked her.
Recalling the events earlier, Sabrina suddenly teared up. She instantly felt the pain again. The dagger, twisting in her heart.
Can she just sleep again? So she won't feel the pain?
"I saw him with another woman," her voice cracked, "They were kissing Marga," she added and burst into tears.
Like a big sister, Marga leaned forward and enveloped Sabrina into a warm hug. She gently stroked her back and comforted her.
"I can't lose him like this Marga, I love him so much," Sabrina spoke between her sobs.
"But you can't change what your eyes saw Sabrina," Marga said.
"I love him Marga, so much. He's my life, my everything. I want to fight for him," Sabrina pulled away from Marga and wiped her tears, "I will get him back Marga, whatever it takes," she said.
"But how Sabrina? If he doesn't want you anymore, what more can you do? You can't force yourself to him."
Sabrina recalled the happenings earlier and came up with an idea. The only thing that could help her.
"I plan to tell him my real identity, in that way maybe he'll want me again,"
"WHAT! NO! That's complete nonsense Sabrina! Your parents will be so mad if you do that!" Marga scolded her. She thinks that it was completely absurd!
"But it's the only way left to get him back Marga. You know how much Jacob means to me, I love him and I'm willing to do anything, even if it's exposing my own identity. I'm sure my parents will understand me,"
"No Sabrina, I completely oppose this idea!" Marga was obviously frustrated at Sabrina. What if he takes advantage of her? No way!
"I'm sorry Marga but I made up my mind," Sabrina looked at Marga apologetically.
"You know, why don't I get us some refreshments and end this topic already, okay?" Marga stood up then turned around to leave.
Sabrina sighed heavily, she didn't like getting into a fight with Marga. But they had opposing thoughts and she can't drop hers. She stands by her decision and no one can shake her.
She's going to fight for him. No matter what it takes.
"Sabrina," a voice suddenly sounded.
Sabrina lifted her head and saw the very person she was thinking about right now.
"Jacob," she called. Tears started to come out of her eyes.
As soon as he saw Sabrina, Jacob rushed forward and wiped her tears, "Please don't cry," he spoke softly. Sabrina looked at him, confused.
Why was he caring of me? Is this what you call the calm before the storm?
