Kapitel 39: The New Page

Stanz and his fangs continued in the Endless Dream. They lived long lives over and over again when they came to understand they were more than just animals.

There was more to life than the things the body desired. Moral Laws and Ethical behavior separated them from the beasts who were confined by the laws of nature written in their DNA. They had freedom whereas beasts were slaves to their nature.

Through the dream, the bodies of all the werewolves became wrapped in a cocoon. The cocoons hardened and the West Wing looked like it was filled with leathery eggs.

Inside the cocoons, the bodies of all of the werewolves were being broken down and only the brain and certain organs were left.

The soupy remains of their bodies became nutrients for a new being growing inside. The process would take several weeks before it was completed.

Barron Atticus and his knights were undergoing a painful process. Their bodies burned with fire and their minds became duller and duller.

The endless dream leads the vampires through a series of evolutions. They became increasingly humbled and realized they were given so much but squandered it on their vanity.

As the vampires were tormented physically and mentally, misty light came out of their bodies and was dragged into a crystal vial in the middle of the room.

The mist was the echoes of Ambrogio and Lillith. The mist was sealed as soon as it came out of all of the vampires.

Like the werewolves, cocoons surrounded the vampires. They too had their bodies broken down into a soupy-goo and were using the goo to slowly create new bodies.

The Fairies arrived at the Inn and flew, unnoticed to the third floor where Gene, Dr. Whatson, and Poole were busy with their pursuits. The fairies turned visible and regrew to human size. They all bowed to Gene.

"Great Oberon, we newly born fairies bring you the vessel of the Jinn," A male fairy nearest Gene said as he respectfully held the knife Luas stabbed into his heart.

Poole and Dr. Whatson came to see the strange spectacle.

"Luas was much braver than I thought, I thought he would wait a few days at least!" Gene said.

He took the proferred knife and rubbed it gently. "Come out of your vessel Jinn, your master commands you, come forth!"

A blue smoke came out of the knife and a young man took form. He was the spitting image of a blue Luas only now his clothes were changed. His only clothes were wool cloth wrapped around his waist.

Luas looked at himself and realized, "Am I a slave?" he asked.

"You are a Jinn," Gene corrected.

"A Jinn is it a slave," he asked.

"Yes, you are my slave."

"You lied to me!" Luas yelled. He was angry, this morning he was the king of the zombies. Then he went through the pain of stabbing himself in the heart to gain greater power.

He believed he would become some peerless being, but he was nothing more than a salve. He could feel he had to obey every word uttered by Gene.

"I didn't lie to you, you will become powerful and walk a greater Immortal Path, but before you can move down that path you must make restitution for your sins.

You enslaved others so now you are enslaved. When you have completed your penance your freedom will be restored," Gene said.

"How long will that take?" he asked.

"I don't know, how long have you been enslaving people?"

"Luas shuttered when he thought about his crimes over the years. He could be a slave for a very long time.

"The good news is your power has grown to a shocking degree."

"My power?" Luas looked down at his hands and felt his body. In the midst of his body, he felt a great living presence. It was like a seed to a great tree, but the power it emitted was immeasurable.

He used a tiny amount of power and was able to levitate. He flew around the room and used more power to cause a rock to explode.

He landed, it was interesting the way he used his power. He thought about what he wanted to happen and it did.

"Watch this," Gene said. He took a sword and cut off Luas's head. It fell to the ground but bounced like a rubber ball. Luas was shocked at first, but he found he wasn't dead.

Before becoming a Jinn he was a Bokor. He controlled legions of Zombies but didn't have the power of indestructibility like they did.

If his head were cut off as a Bokor he would be dead. His head turned to smoke and rejoined his body appearing at the top, secured to the neck.

"You should feel a magic core in the middle of your being. It's filled with energy. Any of the magic you use, the power fueling the magic comes from that core.

This means you can do whatever you want as long as you have magic energy. But, the bigger the task you complete the more magic you deplete.

If you use too much magic you will automatically be drawn back into your vessel until you recover," Gene explained.

From now on, you are not allowed to use your magic on anything beyond level one magic, unless I or Poole say otherwise. I need you to save power.

At the end of every day, you will return to your vessel to rest.

Poole, I place this Jinn in your care. You must obey Poole to do everything he commands you," Gene said.

"That's all, I'm so powerful and you're making me work for your servant?" Luas said.

"You're a slave and Poole is my head servant. No one outranks him except myself and Dr. Whatson, do you understand?" Gene said with iron.

Luas nodded his head sadly. He lost his position as a king. Something occurred to him, he looked at the other people gathered there and he recognized them. These used to be his true zombies.

They were undead creatures but now they became beautiful and had majestic wings. He couldn't understand why his slaves gained so much and he lost everything.

"I don't understand, why did I become a slave, but my true zombies became...like this?"

"Because they were innocent!" Gene said and spoke no more.

"That's enough out of you! Your status has changed you no longer have the standing to speak with Prince Elam like this. I shall teach you your place and how to have proper manners," Poole said.

"Oh yeah, your name isn't Luas anymore; from now on your name is Alfar," Gene said from behind some big artifact he was working on.

"Very well, you are now Alfar and I will train you from the beginning to be a proper Page. Of course, Page is a long way for you, but I'm sure you'll get there with my governance," Poole said as he took the gloomy Alfar to another corner of the room.

"I say, Elam, that Alfar has amazing power, aren't you wasting his potential as an errand boy?" Dr. Whatson asked.

"What use is his power when he still thinks he's the king. Besides, he has no other skills and won't be able to properly use his power until he's taught some discipline.

I'm sure Poole will get him sorted. The problem with Bokors is they are inherently lazy. For Alfar to grow he needs someone standing over him."

"What about those other monsters, will they show up to our door soon to be put under Poole's thumb?" Dr. Whatson asked.

"Ha-ha, not exactly, but I'm curious what they'll think about their new identities." Gene laughed as he started banging on a piece of metal.
