Kapitel 4: Job Allotment.

Still full of excitement after getting a cheat-like ability in this foreign world, Marik hopped off his bed when he heard the early birds bustling around, welcoming a new day with the most beautiful tweets.

"As they say, the early bird gets the worm; today should be the day I get assigned to a job, it's already three days since I arrived here" Marik stretched his body, showing his white teeth drawing an optimistic smile on his face.

It's been three days since Marik was brought to the Aidass family from his village, and by now his background should have been investigated.

Entering his backyard, Marik scooped a handful of water from an old jar to wash his hands and face, refreshing his mind with the early morning cold water.

Donning a gray trouser, and a white shirt on, partially covered with a gray clean sleeveless jacket; Marik fixed his hair briefly, put his white-grayish shoes on, and stepped out of his room.

"Hi!" said Marik to two young men dressed like servants not far from him, right in front of another servant room, probably belongs to one of them.

"Oh! hello there!"

"Hi!"

Both replied as calmly as they could, but Marik could pick up the restlessness in their tone.

"Are you new here too?" asked Marik.

"Yes. I'm Acton by the way!" answered Acton with an honest smile on his face, he seemed to be of the same age of Marik, has a huge build, a head taller than Marik, short brown hair coupled with eyes of the same color.

"Hehe! you can call me Bob, I'm new too" said Bob with a wide grin stained with traces of anxiety.

Average face, bright black eyes, thick black hair, close to Marik in hight, gives the impression of a happy, easy-going guy.

"You two look a bit nervous! is it about the background check?" pointed Marik.

They looked at each other and said back with a sigh "yes".

added Acton"I know my background is clean, but due to how important this job to me and my family, I can stop thinking of the worst".

Bob just gave Marik a weak smile, basically saying the same as Acton.

Marik was sure about his background, add the Avatar abilities to that, so it's natural for Marik not to show any concern about safely joining the Aidass family; so he started chatting with both of them, slipping some encouraging pieces of advice from time to time.

A few minutes through their chat, other servants, started exiting their rooms, properly dressed and ready for today's job allotment.

The new servants formed groups of two to three servants like Marik, Bob, and Acton, to know each other and form new friends to help tackle their duties in the noble family's estate.

...

In front of the Broken Gold Villa's front gate; Armi the low-rank manager, a.k.a small manger, stood straight with a constipated look on his face, the guards on both sides of the gate stood there awkwardly striving to keep a serious face, sadly, the twitching of their mouths' corner, ruined the image of the tough cold-blooded soldier.

Slouching his shoulders, with a defeated look, Armi crossed the gate like he's entering the den of some monster,

He barely took a few steps beyond the villa's gates when he saw the person he didn't want to meet the most.

taking a deep breath, Armi greeted with the most sincere smile he could put on "good morning! young lady Clovis".

Clovis Aidass sat on a wheelchair between the flowers and roses of the garden; the rank-1 maid Mokhlissa turned the wheelchair towards Armi, Clovis set her dim blue eyes on Armi for a couple of seconds and said with a questioning left eyebrow "the Holy Spirit Orchid?"

"W-well you...see..." stuttered Armi, but the poor man couldn't even finish his explanation and was admonished by two words from Clovis.

"Useless trash!" yet surprisingly there are no traces of anger in her tone.

"Get out of sight!" ordered Clovis coldly.

"A-as you wish, my lady!" Armi turned and left as quickly as possible.

and for the maid Mokhlissa, she just smiled wryly and proceeded with pushing Clovis through the garden; she knew why her young lady is doing this and why she's not angry about not getting the flower because the flower didn't matter to her in the first place, it's just an excuse to keep the manager away from the villa.

Clovis didn't want anyone to see her in her current state even her family... no especially her family, so she drove away all the maids and servants off the villa but Clovis's mother refused to let her live alone with no one taking care of her, in the end, she let her remove all the servants of the villa with the stipulation that she has to keep her maid Mokhlissa and one low-rank manger.

...

Back to Marik.

Slowly the new servants got used to each other, started chatting leisurely, the levels of anxiety dropped enough for the new servants to take notice of the symbols embroidered on the other's sleeves, eventually the concept of ranks hit them, which led some servants into changing the group they are in and went looking for those of same rank or higher than them.

That just how human nature works; for Marik, it didn't make any difference, and it happened that both Bob and Acton are rank-3 servants, they stuck with their little group, Marik didn't care, and he had a good first impression of Bob and Acton, and for Bob and Acton, they are not stupid to let go of the chance to build a friendship with a rank-2, when the latter didn't show any signs of dropping out of their little group.

"huh! someone is coming!"

"who is that?"

"I don't know, but he's wearing black clothes, so he shouldn't be a servant"

When Marik and the other servants heard the commotion, they turned their heads to see what's going on, following the gray stoned path, a middle-aged man in a black suit is heading toward them with two servants behind him.

"Attention!" the second the man in the black suit reached them, he gave an order with a stern face; which the new servants responded to immediately.

The man in the black suit didn't waste time with unnecessary introductions and gave his second-order "Rank-5 new servants come forth".

Quickly, almost half of the new servants took a step forward, nervously waiting for what the man in black is about to say next as if they are being judged for a crime they don't know of.

"From today on; you are the Aidass family person! so make sure you do not disgrace the family in any way! for shall be punished for that!" stated seriously the man in black.

He adds on " now when you hear your name, step out and choose what suits you from the list of jobs available" finished by looking at one of the two servants behind him, the latter came forth with a list in his hand, and started calling the rank-5 servants showing them what could they do in the mansion as a job or outside the mansion in one of the family's businesses.

This took several minutes, next was the rank-4 servants' turn, they too passed the background check and all of them were accepted.

Quickly came the turn for the rank-3 servants, no one was chased out too, Bob was so excited he couldn't keep still, both he and Acton chose to work in the mansion.

Acton chose to help in the training ground of the family, and Bob went for the kitchen.

And at last, it's the rank-2 servants' turn, since there are no rank-1 new servants, Marik and another young man with green eyes about 170cm in height and brown hair, are the last servants waiting to be assigned to a job.
