"What happened to the birds?" She asked, glancing at the man walking beside her. She waved her hands around her, pointing at the branched out ancient trees. "The animals, I can understand. But there should at least be Ravens out here, given that they're drawn to magic."

Caliban smiled, ducking under a low branch. "You seem to know quite a lot about magic." He said, his tone a notch lighter than the weight of his words. 

Luna shrugged as she reciprocated the smile. 

"I read a lot." She said, bending low as she followed behind. "And the subject intrigues me." She added, just to make it a tad bit more believable than it sounded. 

The lord shook his head, letting out a low chuckle. Yet he did not question her response. As she watched him pat the tall shrubs aside, clearing a path for her, she knew that the man was going to keep prodding her more with every question she asked.
