Gan rubbed his chin and browsed down the list at some of the items. Browsing through the list, he saw quite a few things that caught his attention immediately.
"Thank goodness, they're putting a Metal Coat on the auction!" Gan was elated, this was an item he had to get. Metal Coats could be sold in some places, but in the vast majority of regions and places, it was a hard catch and buy.
Evolution items from the game that required trading were the hardest to find and obtain. This meant items like the Magmarizer, the Electirizer, Dragon Scale, etc.
"Ah, so this is the list of Pokemon being auctioned." There was quite the amount of Pokemon being auctioned; there were even some from Johto. One of these Pokemon stood out the most, it was an Onix.
"This Onix's title is strange." Yes, it wasn't the Onix itself that was important, but what they had labeled this Pokemon.
It was called the 'Oddly Colored Onix'.
"I guess I'll have to wait to see this Onix. I hope it's what I think it is, that would be too amazing." Gan was full of anticipation for this auction, but he didn't have much money on him.
Gan once again thought about the auction V.I.P card, this would allow him to have his own chambers to himself.
"Ah, right, I have another card." Thinking of his V.I.P. card, he recalled the card that was given to him by that rich couple back in Viridian Forest.
"This golden card. I should drop by and visit them, those people were quite nice and they're probably loaded." Gan didn't have any thoughts of stealing from these people, he had his limits.
Gan checked the card, which stated the location of the residence—it even had a phone number on it.
"The guy's name was Conway, I think. I better head over and visit this family, I may as well." The auction wasn't starting anytime soon and he was forced to stay in this city. Gan stood up and left towards their residence.
Gan could see that the cops were still patrolling and questioning new faces on the streets. Gan saw some of the posters the officers were hanging up and proceeded to check them out.
.....
-Viridian City, Team Rocket Base.
In a place hidden away from the public eye—a base was filled with Team Rocket members that dwelled and battled. At this branch, recruits were given different Pokemon as their starters. If one had to guess, then the Nidoran male and female were the top options.
Currently, the people high in the echelons of this Team Rocket Branch were having an emergency meeting. Here, seven people sat around a long table in their own tailored Team Rocket uniforms.
"I don't think I need to tell anyone why this meeting was suddenly called." A man with dark blue hair was the first to speak, he looked to be in his early thirties.
"Of course, it has everything to do with the authorities snooping around for answers. A few of our paid under-the-table officers are even questioning us." A professionally dressed woman with green hair grinned and said.
"Ah, forget about them, all you need to do is pay them enough money to shut them up and suppress the situation." Another man didn't seem all too worried, his figure was stalky and muscular with a shiny bald head.
"Well, this isn't one of those situations, you know what's involved here! Someone we've been trying to loot—was robbed recently and this guy isn't just a nobody." The man wore a black suit and red tie, he seemed to be the leader here with his slicked-back hair.
"I've heard but I don't know the details about the situation, after all, it happened yesterday." The bald man thought about it more, and recall the number of cops and ranked trainers roaming the city and locking it down.
This wasn't a simple victim!
"Then who was ro..."
"Professor Oak!" The suited man interrupted the bald man and proceeded to sip his tea.
"What? How?" The bald man was shocked and continued "This isn't us, we didn't set up any operations to steal from Oak." He couldn't understand why Team Rocket was taking the heat for something they didn't do.
"I thought the same, we're not completely sure about the details yet. We've contacted several branches to see if they may have conducted something like an operation in our territory. However, that wouldn't make sense, they would be sure to tell us something so important."
The blue-haired man also believe this to be a conspiracy, someone was clearly framing them from their standpoint!
The room grew silent, and just when someone was about to speak up—a knock was heard at the door.
"Hmm..." The suited man and everyone else's gaze steered towards the door. The door was guarded by top-tier Team Rocket trainers, they wouldn't let anyone near the door during their meetings.
"Sir, there's important news. Well, we have something important that you guys need to see." A voice from the other side of the door was heard.
Everyone in the room look at one another and silently agreed.
"Come in." A man wearing a biker's outfit spoke bluntly, with little to no emotion.
The doors were slowly opened and a man in a rare white team rocket outfit came in with some papers. Behind him were the Team Rocket Elites guarding the door, they appeared to look nervous about how the seven leaders would react to being interrupted.
The Viridian City Branch of Team Rocket was the largest amongst every base in Kanto.
"What's this all about?" One of the seven chairman member's expressions darkened.
"Uh, sorry to interrupt sirs, but this is urgent. The Police have been putting up the bounty of the perpetrator linked to the grand theft around the city!" The man hurriedly flashed a bounty poster in front of the group.
"What? Show us!" Everyone was stunned. When they checked yesterday, they didn't see anything, but this turn of events was new to them.
The man quickly handed them the bounty posters.
"This... is the guy that did a number on Prof. Oak? Where are the rest involved?" The poster was placed in a projector to enhance the size, allowing everyone to see it much more clearly.
He operated alone from intel, but we find this too hard to believe." The man in white said with a strange tone.
"Alone?" That was impossible unless Prof. Oak was drunk and fast asleep while being tied to his bed.
Everyone stared at the picture for a while, they were even more stunned about the bounty and the artist's skills.
This was clearly Gan on the bounty poster dressed in his Team Rocket uniform. Much to everyone's surprise, he wasn't the only one in the bounty frame!
Behind Gan, you could see three Gastly floated around, albeit, hard to spot due to their size. Next was Haunter, its size was fairly enhanced, as it nearly took up half the picture behind Gan. Her tongue was out, while her eyes radiated with a red cold light.
This was the same for Gan's photo, which was displayed the most here. His lenses were beaming with red light as if he was the evilest thing here.
Next was Machoke, who had taken up most of the other side of the bounty frame. His head was turned to the side, so you could only see half of his face. Machoke was drawn to have a cunning grin across his face, with sharp orange eyes.
And finally, Nidorino. He was drawn above Gan's head that displayed his horn dripping with blood and his eyes radiating a red glowing light like Haunter and Gan's photo.
These Team Rocket leaders had seen many bounties before, but they've never seen them drawn so well. It was as if the person who drew these were right there in person when it all happened! They had also drawn them in the most unprincipled and wicked way possible.
Was there a personal grudge of some sort? Some of them wondered.
"I really have to give this artist some serious credit, such detail in this bounty poster." The woman with green hair couldn't help but be amazed and praised the unknown artist for their work.
"Indeed. This fella gives off a criminal vibe, but this is a bit...overexaggerated, don't you think?" There was no doubt that these photos were overexaggerated, but some people of the public wouldn't think so.
"Okay, send these bounty posters to Headquarters and every Branch, we need to know who this is." With a sigh, the suited man massaged his eyes with his fingers.
"Got it, sir. Also, that annoying Janna is on the case again and she's more adamant about this whole situation." The Team Rocket member in white stated another piece of news.
"Ugh! Her again? Just ignore and avoid her." The suited man continued. "This culprit must still be in the city, so sent some people to investigate this while avoiding the police and the ranked trainers."
There was no way the culprit escaped that fast, right? With the authorities looking for him in Viridian, he must be lingering until things eased up. They all nodded with these thoughts, the culprit was lying low for now, which couldn't be any obvious.
"Got it! We'll send some of our best." The man in white said respectfully.
"You're dismissed, also, sent Sylas to investigate this with a few others. He's going to be apart of the Black Market Auction coming up, so he may as well hop on this case." The suited man spoke before taking another sip of his tea.
His eyes turn to the projection, there was no telling what he was thinking at the moment as a small smirk appeared across his mouth.
"Roger that!" The man in white quickly turned and left the room.
.....
-Viridian Forest.
In Viridian Forest, this place was locked down as well so no one could enter for the time being. They had yet to lock down the Pewter side of things for Viridian Forest because of a situation within the forest.
There were three Team Rocket members here waiting for a certain someone to rob, but he never came.
"This guy's never come this way ever again! Did he take a boat or ship to Cinnabar Island?" One of the 3 men frowned.
They had come here in hopes of robbing Gan after seeing he was loaded at the Pewter city base, but he never returned here. The trio would leave and come back, shoot, they would even camp here to keep watch for him.
"Damn it! That little bastard dare make us wait! Forget robbing him, we'll just kill him and use his body as bait!" One of the trio members was furious, why hadn't this guy come back? Was he onto them?
That would be impossible!
"Damn, who knows what it is. We can't hang out here any longer, I heard many people died in one of those Danger Zones. Things are about to get tight, they'll be sending in experts to retrieve the bodies and clear out some of the Pokemon in that area."
As mad as Marko was, he could do nothing about it. Those experts weren't to be trifled with, this was especially so with their Low Team Rocket status.
"Let's leave." With gritted teeth, he and his buddies could only retreat back to Pewter City.
.....
Gan soon arrived in front of a gated residence.
"Hmm, this is the place." Gan stared into the distance beyond the gate, at the large mansion, and couldn't help but feel amazed.
"Can I help you, sir? This is private land, so no trespassing." A guard popped out from the side of the gate and spoke in a dull tone while sporting a deadpanned expression.
