Kapitel 14: Back at the apartment
After they finished their food, the girls meandered around the mall for another hour or so. Then, they went across town to Emily's apartment.
"Sorry..." Emily fumbled with the keys for a moment before she managed to open the door. Then, she gestured for Chloe to enter the room.
"Wow, you have a really nice place." her head was moving in every direction, slowly, as she examined the room. They walked into the kitchen and dining room section of the apartment; on their right the kitchen, the dining room on their left. Ahead of them was a couch, a coffee table, and a wall where a T.V. should be. Instead, there was a thin white sheet draped over the wall, and a small projector lay on the table.
"No T.V.?" asked Chloe. She pointed at the sheet.
"We said movie night, so I went all out. There is a projector on the table, and the sheet is well....You know." They both chuckled. "I have popcorn in the kitchen, and pillows and blankets in the corner." Emily gestured to the corner of the room where a gray, woven basket was placed on the ground. "I have about a trillion movies; they're all under the table, take your pick." She took off her jacket and set it on the island in the kitchen. "If you want popcorn, just say the word." she walked over and plopped herself down on the sofa next to Chloe.
"How's this one?" Chloe held up a movie case that read TITANIC.
"That depends how late you are willing to stay up. You do know that movie's over 3 hours long right?" She laughed slightly when she said this. "But, if you want to watch it, then I'm perfectly fine with that." Emily blushed. Chloe looked at her. She studied Emily's face for a moment, then she said, "Alright, let's do it." She turned back to the coffee table. "Now, how does this projector work?" Emily laughed, then said, "Here, let me see." She moved closer to Chloe and gently took the case out of her hand. The whole time she explained what to do, Chloe had fixed her gaze upon her rosy cheeks. She examined every detail of Emily's perfect complexion, her long eyelashes, and her pink lips. Her eyes stuck on Emily's lips, and, without realizing it, Chloe began nibbling at her own lip.
"...Got it? Easy." Emily looked over at Chloe.
"Y-yeah. Real easy." She jumped slightly when Emily's voice faded back into full volume, and redirected her gaze to the projector, then to the sheet on the wall.
They began watching the movie and were about one hour in when Chloe began to speak.
"Hey, can I ask you a question?"
"Sure" They were both under the same blanket, and were sharing a large bowl of popcorn.
"Are..." She felt her cheeks redden. "Are you single?"
