Kapitel 24: Chapter Fifteen

Penyamaran's PoV

His hands graze across my back, clutching themselves around my waist as he looks up to me silently. I pull away from the kiss, a string of saliva still connected to our lips and he slowly wipes my mouth, running his thumb along it ever so gently. He may have cheated, even after promising not to, but he's always managed to heal the wound under the plaster; even if it was a deep gash in my back from a knife. A knife in my back. What a metaphor.

"I'm sorry for breaking my promise. . ." He mumbled, looking down as he began to tear up again. I feel a sinking feeling in my heart, and a fuzzy shiver crawling and consuming my whole body. I reach to his face again, and pull his face up to look at me.

I don't want to, but I have to.

I stroke his tears away, smiling gently.

"I forgive you." I feel a weight lift from my body as he smiles like a goofy kid, and I can't help but pull his face into mine and kiss him again.

It doesn't feel right, it feels wrong, but his hands can soothe any pain I have. I know this choice will come back and haunt me someday, but for now, I'm going to enjoy my time with him. In this moment. In this light. Right here, right now.
