Kapitel 27: Adopting (1)

"I'm sorry for raising my voice on you, Yanyan..." She tried her best to keep herself calm. She may be annoying her because of how spoiled she was when wanting a thing but she really couldn't bring herself to get angry at her.

The kid only needed someone to discipline her just like how Ye Shuxin's mother did.

Patience. Ye Shuxin, please be patient. She kept on saying inside her mind.

"Mommy is mad..."

"No, I'm not-" She paused before she let out a sigh, "Yes, I was mad earlier."

There was no use in lying at her. Yanyan needed to be disciplined and if Jin Mingze couldn't do it, then she would do it herself.

"I'm sorry, baby." She said softly. "It's just, you can't have penguins as a pet. Look at them." Ye Shuxin turned to look at the penguins from the glass window.

Yanyan turned and looked at the cute penguins as well.

"If you take that baby penguin, won't she look for her mommy and daddy?"

The kid came into realization, she looked at her, "Then can Yanyan bring mommy penguin and daddy penguin with baby penguin too?"

She ended up chuckling at what she said, "No."

Yanyan pouted, "But why?"

"Because all of the penguins inside is actually one big family. There's grandma penguin, grandpa penguin, uncle penguin, and many more inside. They're one big family. Do you want to break a happy family?"

Yanyan shook her head. She didn't want to make the penguins sad. She looked at her mother and went to her, giving her a hug. She was separated from her mommy and having no mommy made her so lonely so it was easy for her to understand.

Haofan, who was quiet the whole time was looking at them. He never thought that she was actually that good at handling children.

Ye Shuxin smiled and hugged her back, "If you want a pet, you should try to adopt a stray cat or dog instead of buying one."

"Can we adopt a cat today, mommy?" She grinned happily at her.

Ye Shuxin turned to Haofan, "Is it alright?"

"Please, please, please?" Yanyan clasped her hands together as she looked up at him.

It was not like the young miss was not allowed to have pets but... adopting a stray cat? They could just buy one. One that is well-bred too. Stray cats can be wild after all.

"We're going to adopt one." Ye Shuxin said before Haofan could reject.

"That's-"

"Yay! Yanyan's going to have a cat!" She jumped happily.

"Should we get going?"

"Yes!"

The mother and daughter duo walked ahead, leaving the speechless Haofan there.

Before going to an animal shelter, they decided to stop by a restaurant.

While they were in the middle of eating their food, Ye Shuxin noticed a familiar face enter the place. She quickly placed her chopsticks down and looked away, hiding her face with her hand.

Shit! Shit! Shit! Why are they here in all places?

The woman and her companion who entered the place didn't seem to notice Ye Shuxin since they just headed straight to a vacant table that was not far from them.

"Mommy, are you alright?" Yanyan asked, tilting her head?

"Shh." She looked at her, placing a finger on her lips. "Listen carefully, Yanyan. While we're here, call me 'big sister' instead of 'mommy', okay?"

The little girl pouted, "But mommy is Yanyan's mommy."

"Yes, yes, but please listen to me, okay?"

If those two heard the way Yanyan addressed her, rumors about her being a young mother would surely spread in her school. She already had a reputation in her school, she was not going to allow them to ruin it by spreading false rumors again.

Ye Shuxin turned to Haofan, "And you. You're my cousin."

Huh? What was wrong with madam? He was confused about why she was acting that way.

"Anyway, since we're done, butler Hao, please pay for the food."

"Eh?" But they weren't done eating yet.

She was in a hurry to leave the place. "Let's go Yanyan."

But the moment she was about to leave with her child, the woman that Ye Shuxin was trying to avoid finally noticed her.

"Is that Ye Shuxin?"

"Oh my! Ye Shuxin?"

Ah shit. She wanted to leave the place at once since she didn't want Yanyan to witness something not so child-friendly scene.

Ye Shuxin turned to the two women, the gentleness in her eyes was replaced by a blank gaze. Her lips curled up into a smile, "Rong Xue, Shen Han."
