Kapitel 77: Father and son banter

"I would like to thank everyone for joining our family today to celebrate my lovely wife's birthday. And I also want to use this medium to wish the love of my life a happy birthday again," Mr. Gretchen Vicker concluded his speech while signaling for Noah to come up even as the guests gave him a round of applause. 

Noah stepped onto the stage with a glass of wine in his hand while trying to adjust the mic stand with his other hand for it to reach his height since it was a little low for him. "Sorry, I'm kinda tall," he said, laughing smugly, especially when his father glared at him from where he was seated, because he had just indirectly implied his father was short. The crowd also began to laugh, getting the joke. It would have been offensive if Mr. Vicker was a short man, but he was quite tall. Unfortunately, Noah was the okra that had grown taller than the owner.
