"Then what changed?" Britille asked. "The Queen... She changed Delilah, her life and her way of survival." Calder said as he gripped the steering wheel. "Why would Her Majesty want to change her life?" Britille asked softly as if too afraid to ask. 

"The same reason she changed yours. She wanted power."

"...."

"She may have even made it worse."

"How could a living doll be worse?"

"You still had warm food, shelter and your family."

"My family?! HA! They were nothing but groveling pieces of trash. My mother ran off with the stable boy while my father is narcissistic and loved the power and benefit the Queen gave him. How can I appreciate them? I'd rather they died then live like a doll ever again."

"... I'm sorry. I should have considered your feelings."

"Whatever, I'm not hurt... so go on. Tell me what happened."
