I was currently curled up in my sleeping area, watching Lyndis' limp figure. For some reason, she seemed to be in pain as we approached my cave; the closer we got, the more she would groan, until I was right outside my cave, where she promptly fainted. I was quite curious, but sleep came first.

In the morning, Lyndis still hadn't woken up. Confused, I poked her. I'm fairly sure people don't sleep this long. Deciding to look for anything unusual, I used Inspect.

Status: Hostile mana
Due to a curse (or similar influence) the ambient mana is rejecting you, causing mental pain and a massive decrease to magical abilities.
---
Why does it keep getting more confusing? The curse doesn't effect me or the other animals around here, so why does it target Lyndis? Actually, thinking about it, most beasts avoid this mountain. This is probably why. Now I'm really curious about what is capable of causing such a massive disturbance. Maybe I could follow the mana it emits back to its source? With this in mind, I used Scan while focusing specifically on the mana surrounding Lyndis. At first, I could only see some of the agitated mana, but as I focused more, more and more was revealed to me, and I noticed all of the agitated mana was of the earth element. It was focused within the mountain, mainly the base of the mountain. It surged constantly towards Lyndis, but the area around me was still calm. Leaving Lyndis behind, I stuck my head out if the cave to see how it had spread, and I saw a ring of agitated mana around the mountain. As I looked closer at the ground, I saw some monsters walking through the mana, but unlike Lyndis, the mana didn't seem to target them. 'Strange' I thought, before walking back to Lyndis. If I was near her, she should be able to wake up.
After a few minutes, Lyndis finally opened her eyes, staring directly into my pupils. I was laying down next to hear, as standing up was too tiring. As soon as she realized what she was looking at, she screwed her eyes shut and turned her head away. I sighed, bored of her antics, before saying [Please can you change into your werewolf form? It might lessen the pain.] Luckily, she listened to me and transformed. I then moved away again, watching the mana around her. It still moved towards her, but not as much as when she was in her human form. It didn't target me in my dragonkin form, so I wonder why it is acting so wierdly. Then I realized that I had a very easy way to find out, as I had a compass lying on the floor right in front of me. [You're coming with me] I said, not listening to her squawks of protest as I picked her up in my hand and flew to the base of my mountain.
