Kapitel 10: The Final Statements

"After what happened during the last trial, I wanted to see evidence presented by the prosecution and defense dealing upon Ms. Berger being guilty or not guilty. We will start with the prosecution." The judge announced.

"Please listen to why I think Mr. Snyder's testimony is invalid. First of all, according to Ms. Thornton, Mr. Snyder wasn't there in his room at the night of the murder. If he was their, then he would surely hear the gunshot, due to the pistol here being the murder weapon. Therefore, Mr. Snyder's testimony is faulty and unvalid!" Mr. Dyer brought out his points.

"Hmmm, that seems true. The murder weapon would have been heard afterall." The judge agreed. "Mr. Wilson, may we hear your thoughts?"

"Yes, judge." Mr. Wilson stood up from his seat. "Although that could have been the possible scenario, take a look at this evidence."

Mr. Wilson took out a pistol. However, this wasn't your ordinary pistol.

"Hold on..." I murmured.

"This pistol here is the actual evidence." Mr. Wilson announced.

The judge looked shocked. "What? Mr. Wilson it's against the law rules to bring in an evidence that hasn't been filed into the court records. What is the meaning of this?"

"I understand that judge Turner. However, I had Detective Biamchi search for the actual murder weapon and not the forged one that Prosecutor Dyer has right at this moment."

The whole court was in awe of this. There were two murder weapons?!

"We found this pistol on the scene of the murder, Mr. Wilson!" Mr. Dyer exclaimed.

"We happened to find this in the trashbin that was moved away from the murder. Due to there being blood on the wheels of the trashbin, I found it very suspicious. That was how we found the actual murder weapon." Mr. Wilson brought out.

So the trashbin was actually there?

"'The actual murder weapon?' What's going on?" The judge asked.

"I present to you again, Ms. Thornton's testimony. She said that she heard the gun shot the night of the murder. However look at this gun. It's a silent shooter." Mr. Wilson passed the gun to the judge.

After taking out the bullets, the judge was able to see that it was the same as the ones in Mr. Parker.

"These bullets..."

"Yes. They are the same ones as the two that are in Mr. Parker." Mr. Wilson continued walking around the courtroom. "I hereby announce the murderer of this case isn't Ms. Berger, but Ms. Thornton!"

Everyone was shocked by Mr. Wilson's accusations.

"Upon what evidence, Mr. Wilson?" The judge asked.

"This is how the murder happened, Judge. On the night, Ms. Berger here was walking home from a night out of drinking with her friends. However, she happened to stumble upon a dead body, Mr. Parker. When she saw the dead body, she decided to look at it. Ms. Thornton, the murderer, found the perfect suspect. At that, she took the picture. That was the perfect cover up for her crime, or so she thought. What Ms. Thornton didn't know was that Ms. Berger informed Mr. Bianchi of the trash bin, being in which the murder weapon was."

Wait. That was a lie. I never told Mr. Bianchi about the trash bin. Is this what bluffing is? A bunch of fibs?

"Ms. Thornton thought Ms. Berger wouldn't notice about the trash bin. This was all one big mistake for Ms. Thornton. Therefore, I hereby declare Ms. Thornton as the murderer!"

The whole jury began conversing against one another. The judge began to think.

"That does see to be possible to me." The judge pondered.

"No!" A person screamed across the room.

Everyone turned to see Ms. Thornton with an angry expression. "I am not the murderer! You are wrong! That's a bunch of bullcrap!"

"Ms. Thornton, please watch your language." The judge informed her.

"Shut up! I will inform everyone then about this matter! I was framed! I am not the murderer! I was bribed!" Ms. Thornton began spewing out words.

Though I'm on my own side, this whole trial seemed off to me. Ms. Thornton wasn't the killer. It was a man. The voice was a man's. the body of the murder was a man.

I also know it couldn't have been Mr. Snyder. His voice didn't sound at all alike to one of the men that night. Unless he was a very skilled voice actor, I don't think he could pull it off. Who was the murderer then?

"Please take Ms. Thornton out of the courtroom and to the detention center." The judge announced.

"Let go of me!!! Let me prove my innocence!" Ms. Thornton screamed as she was pulled out of the room.

"Looking at the evidence and Mr. Wilson's accusation, I hereby announce Ms. Berger as not guilty." The judge said as he hammered his gavel.

Mr. Wilson the sat back in his seat. "Good. It's over."

That voice. Why didn't I notice it before. Until he was relaxed, I heard it in his voice. That groggy, deep sigh...Mr. Wilson is...
