Kapitel 5: Meeting Cai Yinong (2)

After finishing the last sentence, Jiang Cheng relaxed and took a breath. Today's quota was finished.

The book [Stories About The Ming Dynasty] had more than 1.5 million words. According to Jiang Cheng's previous habit when writing a script, his average words per minute (wpm) and the fact he used to work more than ten hours a day, he could type about 100,000 words a day. So the book could have been done in two weeks.

However, after rebirth, Jiang Cheng cherished his body very much. In his previous life he had passed away prematurely, he didn't wanna risk it again in this life. Therefore, he stipulated that he wouldn't do more than eight hours a day and he would take a break each hour to exercise and relax, so as not to cause physical fatigue.

At such a speed, he could type about 40,000 to 50,000 words per day.

After five days, today he had just completed 200,000 words. He expected to finish in a month.

Although it was a bit slow, writing was hard work. During this period, Jiang Cheng had not only perfected the book but also enriched his own knowledge due to the various historical books he consulted. He boldly added a lot of his own insights and quotations, borrowing from the old and the new.

Witty language and funny plots, sometimes even had Jiang Cheng laughing involuntarily. Now Jiang Cheng could proudly announce that his book was definitely no worse than the original version in his memory and some parts even exceeded it.

"I wonder what happened to the script I sent? Have they read it?" Jiang Cheng stretched his slightly sore neck and said to himself, "Forget it, don't think about it! It's been less than a week, how could it be that fast?"

Just as he, tired after a day's work, was about to take a shower and change, his phone suddenly rang.

Jiang Cheng's phone was newly bought during the summer vacation. Except for his parents and relatives, few people knew the number.

He took out his phone in doubt and found that it was an unknown number.

"Who could it be?" He thought as he accepted.

"Hello, may I ask if this is the author of [Autumn's Concerto] Mr. Jiang? I am the Project Director for Shanghai Tangren. My name is Xu Yiming."

Receiving a call from Shanghai Tangren, Jiang Cheng was shocked at first. He never expected that he would receive a response so quickly let alone within a week and what a pleasant surprise, just as he was thinking about them, they called!

"I am, you've finished reading the script?" Jiang Cheng asked, trying to calm down his racing mind.

"Of course, the scripts for the first few episodes are quite wonderful. I've also read through the show's outline carefully. It's very good. Our company very much hopes that you can give us the show."

Xu Yiming's voice on the phone sounded excited, there was no posturing in order to negotiate at all, instead it was clear he was full of desire for the script. Of course, there was no need for negotiations. Boss Cai had said "to win the script no matter what", so as long as Jiang Cheng's demands weren't too outrageous, he didn't mind giving him the initiative.

"It seems that Shanghai Tangren is really optimistic about the script."

Seeing this Jiang Cheng also determined that he didn't have to pretend and said: "Of course, I wrote the script for you. I hope you can turn it into a good TV series. I'm just wondering how your company wants to go forward?"

"The company's planning department is already on this, when the scripts are all in hand, we will immediately start preliminary preparations such as casting, equipment and prop preparations. We can expect to start shooting in the second half of this year and we will broadcast next year."

Jiang Cheng was shocked. He didn't expect Shanghai Tangren to be so courageous. Not only did they easily adopt a rookie screenwriter but they responded so quickly and even fired up their planning department.

No wonder that the later generations of Shanghai Tangren could develop so quickly and so prosperously. The upper echelons of the company were full of courage and with the whole company running so fast and efficiently it wouldn't be difficult for them to develop.

With an idea in mind, Jiang Cheng asked again: "Then I wonder how much are you offering to buy the script?"

Xu Yiming replied: "It's hard to discuss details on the phone. It's better to do so in person. Can we set up an appointment for tomorrow? Then we can discuss any issues about the script."

"Okay then, let's do tomorrow afternoon, the place is up to you." Jiang Cheng thought of using tomorrow morning to prepare and get some work done so he arranged the meeting time to be in the afternoon.
