"Not bad, eh?" Glancing at the apartment complex, Zoey nodded.
"Thank you," Matthew Xi glanced over at the car where Zoey stood — outside the driver's seat. "You want to go inside?" Seeing that she was staring at him, he raised his brows and invited, or rather, asked.
"Go inside? Why?" Zoey blinked her eyes many times as she tilted her head to the side. Her response made him pressed his lips together as he didn't expect that.
Considering her personality, Matthew Xi was certain she would agree without a second hesitation. Yet she didn't.
Was this one of her tricks? Does she want him to insist?
"I might be a little pushy but I know my limits... sometimes." Zoey's lips stretched into a grin.
Despite her attraction towards the dashing man, Zoey couldn't just enter a man's place, especially if she didn't truly know him. After all, being carefree in the hospital, it just a scream away to garner some attention if he turned out to be a bad person.
Secondly, if he revealed his true colors on their way in his place, Zoey could just crash her car to stop him. Truly, she's a crazy daredevil.
Matthew Xi peered at her bright and gorgeous visage. By the looks of it, Zoey didn't want to head inside the apartment nor did she wanted to be persuaded. Works fine with him, though.
"Alright," Matthew Xi nodded his head in understanding before he slowly turned, heading to the stairs.
"See ya around~!" Waving her hand, Zoey sweetly smiled. Matthew Xi gave her one glance back before resuming on his tracks.
For some reason, he was partly relieved that Zoey left him off the hook — well, somehow, because Matthew Xi was certain she would come by from time to time. Still, it was still better than having her lurking around most of the time.
Who knows what she would do to him if he completely recovered? He couldn't let her seduce him again.
On the other hand, there was this small part of him that was bothered. Based on the time he spent with her, Matthew Xi was unconvinced that she'll recede just like that.
"Whatever," Matthew Xi murmured as he shrugged his thoughts at the back of his mind. What's important was that he has his peace back.
Meanwhile, Zoey rested her chin over her arms that were resting on the car's roof. She watched him take the stairs until his figure showed on the third floor.
He headed to the last flat of the floor. When he reached the door, Matthew Xi turned to her small figure because of the distance. Regardless, he saw her smile and waved her hands once again.
"She's probably making sure if this is my place or not." He murmured before he turned and faced the door. For a second, Matthew Xi scanned the digital push and pull door lock.
Swallowing a mouthful of saliva, he entered the combination code. Seeing it unlocked at the first try, he felt that a torn was picked out of his throat.
With that, Matthew Xi headed inside without giving her another glance back. Little did he know, Zoey grinned from ear to ear as he entered the flat.
"Hehehe..." Zoey chuckled, though she sounded a little creepy. Fortunately, she was pretty and her car wasn't cheap. Hence, no one bothered to think that she's a deranged person.

Later that night...
Gentle lights brightened the living area of the apartment. Although the place was spacious for a whole family to live in and yet, the place was designed in a minimalist concept of grey and white.
Aside from the bookshelves, little to no furniture and other necessities, hence, it appeared two times roomy.
Matthew Xi reclined on the grey sofa, his leg rested over the other leg where he had a book on his lap. Flipping the page, the sound of the main entrance opening assailed his ears. Regardless, he didn't turn his head to the newcomer.
On the door, a man with a 170 cm height, broad shoulders displaying his well-built body, entered with his brows knitted. Wariness shrouded his eyes as he left the door slightly open.
His steps heading to the living area were light, almost producing zero sounds. He carefully tilted his head as he peeked in the living area.
Upon laying his eyes on the person sitting on the couch, the man's eyes widened. "Young master!" He called out in surprise.
Unlike how he carefully entered his own place as if he was a thief, Paul Qian glided towards the living area. He stopped several steps away from the sofa where Matthew Xi perched.
"Young master, where have you been?" Worry, relief, and thousand of inquiries danced in his eyes as his gaze scrutinized Matthew Xi's side profile.
"Hospital." Slowly, Matthew Xi turned his head to his personal assistant. "I was robbed when I am taking a night walk..." He paused with a sigh. "At least, that's how it appeared." He added with a shrug.
Indeed, Matthew Xi was just taking his usual night walks when he bumped into a bunch of scoundrels. He would usually take night walks around places where no one knew him. It was kind of a luxury to him to have such peace hence, the reason why he was in such a place where he met his troublesome savior.
The very instant Paul Qian heard the word hospital, red alarms rang in his head. What more, after hearing Matthew Xi's explanation afterward — he was mortified.
"Don't worry, I'm fine now." Seeing how his assistant gasped in disbelief, Matthew Xi waved his hand to ease his worry.
"But—" Just as Paul Qian's words could escape from his mouth, he was interrupted by the sound of the doorbell.
"Oh, neighbor~!" After the doorbell, Matthew Xi heard the familiar voice of that woman, causing his under-eye to twitch.
"Huh?" Paul Qian knitted his brow as all he rarely interacted with his neighbors. "Is there a new tenant?" He murmured as he took a step to check who was outside.
However, just as he did, Matthew raised his arm and blocked him. "Hide for a while." He ordered before heading towards the entrance.
"I knew she was planning something." He murmured through his gritted teeth.
However, just as he took one step, Matthew Xi spoke. "Hide for a while." He ordered before heading towards the entrance of the door.
"I knew she was planning something." He murmured through his gritted teeth.
