Deathfire Grasp at ten minutes in!
Although there were not a lot of pro players among the audience below the stage, everyone knew that it was insanely fast for someone to acquire a Deathfire Grasp by the tenth minute of the match. The whole game was tilted in their favor.
The effects of Deathfire Grasp:
+120 Ability Power
+10% CDR
UNIQUE: Deals 15% of the target champion's maximum health in magic damage and increases all subsequent magic damage taken by the target by 20% for 4 seconds (90-second cooldown).
750 range
The item was the ultimate bomb. Each of the earlier champions only had twenty-five to thirty percent resistance toward magic. Hence, the damage they would receive after being hit by the Deathfire Grasp would nearly be equal to true damage which was one hundred percent.
It also meant that whatever damage one saw on the screen translated to how much health they lost. In such cases, it was extremely easy to calculate the damage dealt—one could instantly kill their opponent the moment the total amount of damage they had from their four spells exceeded their opponent's current health.
Rockman was currently level 9. With all of Rockman's spells combined, along with Deathfire Grasp, Rockman's total damage exceeded one thousand and two hundred points.
After clearing another wave of minions and obtaining the blue buff, Chen Mu pretended to gank a side lane. Nevertheless, in reality, he only snuck back to the brush that was next to the river in mid lane.
The slaughtered Bladesman, who could not afford to buy even basic items, had no gold to buy any wards. After Bladesman used his Q to clear the minion wave, Chen Mu walked out from the brush and immediately proceed Deathfire Grasp on him, followed by an RQEA combo. Rockman disintegrated Bladesman from the face of the earth once more.
Nevertheless, Chen Mu felt like he was not fearsome enough. It had to be more exciting.
Meanwhile, Blind Monk was clearing the jungle on the opposite side of the map. Seeing how Chen Mu had cleared the minion wave in mid lane, he started farming
As their item and level lead continued to widen, Chen Mu decided to dive bot lane with the Blind Monk. Rockman was capable of tanking a few turret shots despite having built AP items. Wind Lady and
Zhao Yin facepalmed himself with a constipated expression on his face. He regretted having picked on Chen Mu. If the situation continued, he would surely become a
Bladesman left his base one more time. As his eyes shifted to the harassment that was taking place in top lane, his screen suddenly turned monochrome once more.
"???" One of his teammates could no longer hold it in as they sent him a line of question marks, meaning, 'What in the world are you playing at?'
Zhao Yin's mouth fell agape. Bladesman's body was strewn beneath the second tier turret. Opposite him, Rockman and Blind Monk could be seen striding away. Most importantly, Rockman had a
Was Chen Mu using Zhao Yin to level up? Zhao Yin looked at his score that was 0-5. He wanted to cry but had no more tears. Was he not a dried up piece of wet wipes in front of his enemies?
That effing Chen Mu! Did he have to go so far?!
Other than Bladesman, Chen Mu had never used his ultimate on anyone else. 'That monster. Are all high-flyers this vengeful?'
If Chen Mu heard Zhao Yin's thoughts, he would only wave it off. His reason for doing so because the System said he would be granted more points if he killed Zhao Yin. He was meant to horrify Zhao Yin after all. Any player would be horrified if they became a Legendary Feeder. That was what Chen Mu thought.
Therefore, throughout the entire match, although it was probably easier for him to defeat Gun Dude at bot lane, Chen Mu did not allow anyone else to taste his ultimate. Rockman's ultimate was reserved solely for Zhao Yin.
Bang! Zhao Yin's mouse cursor flew across the screen as he was shocked to death!
It was the ninth time! It was Rockman's ninth time, casting his ultimate on Bladesman! This time, Chen Mu took it too far—he Flashed across the wall and cast R. Chen Mu's champion that appeared in front of Bladesman without warning nearly shocked the latter into a state of paralysis.
Zhao Yin's teammates shot him accusing gazes. Zhao Yin felt so tilted that he began to tremble in anger. Beads of sweat covered his forehead.
"Tsk tsk. This is unexpected. Who would've known that someone as polished as Chen Mu would turn out to be so vengeful?!" Zhuo Xiaobai sighed under the stage.
Lu Ren gulped and gave Zhao Yin a pitiful glance. Chen Mu was not someone one could fool around with. The man had a very vengeful heart—Chen Mu had not cast his ultimate on Gun Dude who barely had any health left and instead insisted on one-shotting the full health Bladesman. It was the work of a madman! It was truly… A work of art.
'Torture Zhao Yin until he starts shaking. Didn't you say that you had a thousand and five hundred ELO points? Weren't you OP? Not so OP now, are you?'
Eventually, the match ended after twenty-five minutes. Bladesman's final score was 0-10.
"Let's go and shake hands," Shi Geng said. To indicate the formality of the tournament, players were required to shake hands with their opponents like how they did in international championships.
[Ding! Mission accomplished. Based on Zhao Yin's level of fear: received six hundred points.]
Dang, Chen Mu knew that he had not been cruel enough. Chen Mu could not help but feel like he had chosen the wrong champion. He should have chosen a champion that could instantly score a kill with a teeny spell. Perhaps then, he would have obtained a thousand points instead of six hundred. Chen Mu had chosen Rockman partially because the visual effects of the champion's ultimate were more than over the top. He was naive enough to think that it would be enough to make Zhao Yin fear him. Chen Mu guessed that it was not the case after all.
While the two teams exchanged handshakes, Chen Mu's mind was busy churning. The System had set the reward limit to a thousand points, but he was only rewarded with six hundred points. It was not perfect. Hence, Chen Mu decided that he had to look more into it in the future.
Zhao Yin's expression was extremely dark. When he saw Chen Mu extend his hand toward him, Zhao Yin felt like he would do anything in the world to avoid touching Chen Mu's hand. Chen Mu was such a bully. He had killed Zhao Yin countless times without mercy. Zhao Yin thought, 'If it weren't because I'm a man, I would've wailed on the spot to make you feel bad.'
Chen Mu kept his hand extended, but Zhao Yin did not move an inch. Zhao Yin's actions led a lot of people to think that he lacked poise. Hence, Chen Mu thought about turning around and leaving. He did not want to pay Zhao Yin any form of attention because he had already obtained his reward after all.
"Don't think you're so great just because you won the match with someone else carrying you. Sooner or later, I'll return the favor one day." What Zhao Yin thought was an aggressive declaration sounded like a shameless statement to his teammates. 'My dear bro, where did you find the courage to say that? You were solo killed eight times in a row. What do you eat to get such thick skin on your face?'
"Oh, by the way, do you have piles? If you do, don't hesitate to get it treated. You can always talk to me about it," Chen Mu threw Zhao Yin an off-topic question.
However, Zhao Yin's face blew up like a tomato. 'Goddamnit, how did you know?! I've never once told anyone about it. Are you telling me you're medically trained?!'
"What do you mean? Can you treat it?" Zhao Yin failed to realize that such a response would reveal his secret. Everyone's eyes lit up as if they had been enlightened, asking, 'Is that so?!'
"Oh, nope. It's because
Everyone around them who had overheard their conversation began to tremble violently in laughter. Even Zhao Yin's teammates could not hold their laughter in.
Anger began to swell in Zhao Yin until he turned as red as pork liver. He left furiously, knowing that Chen Mu made a complete fool out of him.
"You have such a potty mouth!" Shi Geng could not hold back his laughter. You must be a genius to have come up with such an insult.
"Do we have more matches after this?" asked Chen Mu.
"Of course. However, the squad that we faced just now can be considered one of the stronger squads. The other teams should be easy to defeat except for one. That would be the team formed by the students of Chuzhou University.
"As we all know, university students have a lot of time on their hands. I heard that they're members of various Esports Clubs. A few of them might be players with two thousand ELO points. Their match is up next. Let's watch them play," Shi Geng said.
"Yep." Chen Mu nodded and watched along with his other teammates the way the team from Chuzhou University played.
The group of university students looked rather different from the crowd. They carried themselves with much more pride and appeared to be more polite. None of them smoked and all of them were dressed in casual attire. Across them, a group of youngsters with hair dyed in wild colors was dressed in pants that were mostly covered in holes to show that they had "personality".
Nevertheless, personality was no indicator of strength. It was apparent that the students from Chuzhou University were stronger—they obtained First Blood through a solo kill in top lane three minutes into the game. At the fourth minute, their jungler ganked mid lane and scored another kill. By the ten minutes mark, they had slaughtered their enemies to the point where the latter was forced to run helter-skelter. Then, at the fifteen minutes mark, they steamrolled across the map. They made the match look like they were up against AI bots!
"They're rather strong. We should be up against this squad in the finals." Chen Mu watched the university students intently, holding back his urge to drool. Once he defeated their team, he would have earned four hundred bucks. It was too lucrative.
