The sound of clanking armors, metal clashing, explosions, and a monstrous roar floods Ye Xiu's headphones. He's chosen to beat a wolf like wild boss monster for his quest today and so far, nobody's done it. Almost every guild that have encountered it were utterly defeated.
He's been hiding behind the boulders at the top of the cave waiting for an opportunity to strike, and by strike he means steal the monster from the guilds trying to beat the monster themselves. Sadly, that opportunity might not arrive any time today. He sees another shadow suddenly move behind the boulder just a few feet away from him. He readies his spear in case the anonymous shadow strikes. Yet, nothing has happened. The player stays hidden behind his boulder.
A head peeks behind it and notices Ye Xiu and goes back into hiding. After a while, the player takes a peek again and moves to the boulder close to Ye Xiu which is in his 5 o' clock. The player takes one last peek before hiding behind the boulder once again.
'Weirdo,' he thinks as he checks the situation with the wild boss again, still no progress, he sighs.
Suddenly, a notification pops up and he reads that someone has invited him to join their party.
'Dancing Rain,' he reads the username. The other player peeks his head from the boulder again and gives Ye Xiu a look.
"You're Dancing Rain?" he asks through chat.
"Yep," the other player chats immediately. He moves from his boulder to another to continue hiding.
"Why should I join your party? I can do this perfectly by myself." Ye Xiu asks him.
"Because even if you think you can do it alone, we both know you'll have a hard time. We know you're also here to steal the wild boss from all the other guilds just like us but face it, it'll be difficult to steal it alone." The other player replies a long message.
"We can share the loot after. You can have all the good stuff," he adds still confident about his proposal.
"How do you even know that I'm not a part of any parties?" Ye Xiu asks suddenly. He can't possibly know right off the bat that Ye Xiu's doing this alone.
"Just a hunch, well, I saw that the bar under your name is still gray and not green. Also, I know you don't belong to any parties or guilds because of the fact that none of the other guilds here are smart enough to hide a backup member like you. They like to go, as they say, 'all out' from the very start. Ha ha ha" the player explains and somehow looks down on the other guilds.
"You have a sharp eye to notice the bar under my name from a distance." Ye Xiu praises him. He's impressed by the player's ability to notice such thing.
"Well, us launcher class do possess sharp eyes after all." The player says confidently, not afraid of exposing what class he is while Ye Xiu starts to grow silent.
"How many are you in your party? And what class are they?" Ye Xiu asks.
"Including me, it's just the four of us." He answers after.
"Well, I'm a launcher. The other three are hiding somewhere else, a sharpshooter, spellblade, and a cleric. We could use another member to make sure we really get this boss with minimal damage." The player adds.
"We'll make use of that sharp eye of yours." Ye Xiu snaps his finger as if he's just thought up of a plan.
Ye Xiu could use some powerful classes, and a cleric even, to get a hold of the wild boss and in a shorter time than he had calculated at first. He looks at Dancing Rain again who seems to be chatting his party members given that he's silent for a while.
'This could work,' he tells himself.
Dancing Rain seems to have finished talking to his party because he looks at him again, waiting for him to accept his invitation.
"Okay." Ye Xiu says as he accepts the party invitation. Dancing Rain gives his other members the instructions and Ye Xiu would include some inputs here and there to make the plan easier to accomplish. Once all the members have their designated assignments, they put their plan into action.
The plan actually went smoothly and they were able to finish it in twenty minutes. if Ye Xiu stuck with his plan, then he'd need another ten minutes to finish it off.
"I can't believe you did that last bit! You surprised us you know!" Dancing Rain approaches him as he picks up his loot. Based on the tone of his voice, he's not particularly angry but there is something.
"Sorry, I couldn't help it." Is all Ye Xiu could say with a shrug.
"Can we do this again some time? I could really use some help!" he tells Dancing Rain. The other members of the party are standing behind him, somehow bemused by what he did earlier. Dancing Rain smiles at that and lets out a laugh.
"Yeah. Maybe we should." He offers a hand which Ye Xiu accepts immediately.
