Upon entering his friend's VIP room, he shifted his head sideways and caught the pillow in his hands.
"Hey! Who threw this at me?" Alan smirked as he tossed the pillow from one palm to the other; treating it like a ball.
"Not me!" Lin Que scribbled some notes on the comment section of the chart in his hands.
"Hey! Hey! You can't abuse a patient! Gyawww!!! Doctor Lin! This gorilla is trying to delay my healing progress!" Johnson's arms were set at a shield position; ready for any sudden attacks.
"You seem quite lively for a person who went from having a stomach virus to food poisoning." Lin Que glanced coldly at Alan, warning him to stop the pillow fight.
"It's not my fault that I ate something worse than last time! Hey. To be fair, the last time I had the stomach virus; I was a very good patient." Johnson tried arguing about his case.
"A good patient wouldn't eat pig intestines and other stick foods from street vendor food carts right after getting discharged. What happened to listening to your doctor? Stay away from oily and spicy food. It's no wonder you ended up back at the hospital with food poisoning. Do you know how serious this could get?" Lin Que left no place for him to try gaining points.
Alan whispered as he slipped the pillow back to its original place on the bed, "Psst, what's wrong with him?"
"I don't know. He already looked grumpy when he came in." Johnson whispered in response.
"If you think you could talk about me in front of me, then you're wrong. If you don't cooperate with me, I can have you stay for as long as I wish in the hospital. How about more needles?" That straight face and hoarse tone was extremely convincing.
"No! Bro! I'm wrong. You're not grumpy! You're the most handsome deity I've met! Please don't make me suffer anymore! I've had enough things up my ass to help my gas problem!" He clapped his hands together, pleading for his forgiveness.
"Oh? So, you called me grumpy, huh? Thanks for letting me know." The corners of his lips lifted up like a clown. If a red tail and horn could be added to his current image, he would be the perfect devil.
Johnson knew he was in good hands, so he didn't continue with the jokes. He turned towards Alan and asked, "Oh yeah. Why were you so late? Didn't you say you were already turning the corner of the block when I messaged?"
His eyes sparked in the gentlest way that nobody had ever seen. "I picked up a ring and handed it back to the girl."
"Ahh, so which girl did you end up flirting with this time?" Johnson sighed as he shrugged at his friend's flirtatious nature.
"I didn't," Alan blushed and rubbed the back of his nape.
"Ah! So she- w..wait. Did you just say you didn't flirt with her?" Johnson's mouth formed an "O" shape. A second later, he snapped out of it and tugged on Lin Que's white coat.
"L..Lin Que! Quick, grab a thermometer! He must be running a terrible fever. The food poisoning must be affecting my senses." Johnson almost crawled out of bed as he felt Alan's forehead and neck with the back of his hands.
Observing Alan's expression, Lin Que smiled, "Somebody is hooked."
"Huh? Hooked on what? Chicken pox?" It took Johnson a few seconds to process those words and stop fussing over nothing.
"Oh!.....Damn! Which girl could make you swallow your words like that? You're always the flirty king in our group. Now, you've finally met competition, huh?" Johnson elbowed him and patted his shoulders.
"Actually, this is the first time I have ever failed to talk to a girl. Especially a girl I am interested in." Alan admitted shyly.
Checking his watch, Lin Que walked towards the door, "It's time for me to check up on a patient. I'll be back." Catching the joy on his face, Alan stepped closer towards him.
"Hmm? Why are you smiling like this?"
Lin Que: "What do you mean?"
Stretching his arm around Lin Que's shoulder; his index and middle finger walked slowly up his neck. Using the chart in his hand, Lin Que slapped the tickling fingers on his shoulder.
"What do you want?"
"Ouch! Meanie." He pouted and drew circles on Lin Que's shoulders instead.
"Hehe~ Who is that patient?" Alan stared at him with no intentions of letting him go until he answers.
"As a doctor, integrity is very important. I can't disclose my patient's information to strangers." Covering the report in his hand, he kept Lily's name a secret.
"Oh! But if we go with you and happen to meet her, then that wouldn't count as confidential! Good thinking!" Alan took his arms off his shoulder and smiled meaningfully at him.
"Eh? What's going on? Lin Que! Did you finally open that monk heart of yours? You found a girl you like?" Johnson hopped out of bed and nosily asked.
"I bet it's that girl he met at the Convention. Bet he probably got her number and even asked her on a date secretly already." Alan spat our provoking words on purpose.
"Did not! I haven't even got her number yet. How do I ask her out?" Covering his mouth in the next second, he turned around and walked away. Giving each other a high-five, Alan and Johnson tagged along from behind.
Sighing, Lin Que didn't know what he should do with his buddies. Did they think this was a playground? Or amusement park?
As if they have read his mind, Johnson said, "We're only taking a walk around the hospital. Just pretend we're not here."
Alan laughed, "Yeah. Yeah. We promise we won't interrupt you and your~~~ patient's time." Lin Que wanted to go around in circles and eventually tire them out. Who could've guessed the amazing timing between Lily and him?
When he turned, he saw a troubled look on Lily's face as she poked her bottom lip up while staring at the vending machine. From the corner of her eye, she caught a glimpse of Lin Que's figure. Seeing his handsome figure, her confused expression instantly melted to a loving smile.
"Doctor Lin!"
