They spent like one hour before sleeping whispering to each other just how much they loved each other.

Both of them knew the danger hat was to come and follow soon, so both enjoyed each and every passing minute.

By the next morning, Cullen went ahead to speak with Owen and himself and the prince rushed up to the King's chambers.

It was the best they could do and they needed him to be up.

They got the door of the king's chambers and the guards bowed down to them.

"Your majesty, the prince and the young general request an audience," one of the guards announced from outside.

Bayard who was barely awake groaned in his sleep as he did not anticipate the early morning disturbance one bit.

For all he knew, Cullen should be on his way already so what was he doing here in front of his room first thing in the morning?
