Kapitel 15: WolfXFox

Wolf X Fox

There once was a pack of wolves and a pack of fox's. The wolves lived in a cave on a cliff. The foxes lived in a cave on the other side of the cliff. The two packs made a pact. The foxes got the eastern forest and the wolves got the western forest. The two pack leaders were very proud. The wolf leader had three male pups. The fox leader had no pups. One summer day, the fox leader finally had an heir. Unfortunately, the hot summer sun was too much for the pups. By the time he came back with food, all the pups were died. Well, all except one. Somehow the runt of the litter lived throw the heat. The fox was happy when this little pup came out for food. "My little heir." The fox said, lying down the pup's food. The pup's mother was sad. "Dear, this little pup can't be your heir. She is a girl." "If a female can hunt, why not lead?" The fox leader said then licked his daughter's ear.

The fox raised his daughter to be the perfect leader. Once the little fox was five, her father sent her out to hunt. Unfortunately, the little fox didn't know where she could and couldn't hunt. She ended up following a rabbit into the western forest. She ran into one of the wolf leader's pups. The fox backed away, scared. The wolf was star struck. "What are you doing in wolf territory?" "Hunting a rabbit." The wolf looked around. "Look, fox's aren't allowed to hunt here. Fox's have the eastern forest and wolves have the western forest." "I'm sorry, I didn't know. Please, don't eat me." The wolf began to laugh. "What are you called, little one?" "I'm Snowy, and one day I'll be the leader of the foxes!" The fox said, bouncing around. "Well then, I'm Max. I might become the wolves' leader."

Max walked Snowy home. He, also, explained the situation to her father. Max even told him that he scolded her for it. However, her mother still whacked the back of her head. Wanting to scare the little fox, she told Snowy how wolfs hunted and killed foxes. With this knowledge, Snowy quickly learned to hunt and fight. Max returned home, still thinking about the little fox he met. Once Max turned 16, his father began looking for a mate for him. Every female tried but all he thought about was Snowy. He finally left to see her. Once he found her his heart skipped a beat. She was so beautiful. However, with the fear her mother put into her, Snowy got ready for a fight.

Seeing this Max smiled. "What are you doing?" "Protecting myself and my pack!" Snowy growled. Max laughed, "You can fight me if you wish! How, I'm not hurting a hair on you!" A little confused, Snowy leaped at him. She put up a good fight, even chipped his ear. However, in the end Max won by pinning her. "Are we done now?" Snowy nodded in defeat. "Good, go home and tell them that I will be taking with me, starting tomorrow evening." Max said. Snowy lowered her head. "Very well but, please, just take me. Leave my pack alone." "Very well." Max said and left. Once Snowy retuned, she told her father what had happened. Her mother was fuming. "Aren't you happy we had another litter, dear?" "What do you mean? She was taught if she's afraid of something to fight it. She was afraid of wolves. So, she fought one. I could not be more proud."

"But, I lost." Snowy said. "I never said you had to win every time. The fact that you fought was enough for me. Now, go tend to your bothers. Pick one to take your place." Snowy happily ran off. "Dear, you are out of your mind." "SILENCE! From day one, you didn't do anything but hinder her training." He growled. Then, he left for his daughter. Once Max returned, he explained what had happen and add, "If I am to have a mate, it must be her!" His father agreed. The next evening, Max went to get Snowy. He told her father what he wishes and he consented. Seeing Snowy playing with her brothers made Max happy. Once Snowy saw him, she told her brothers goodbye. The two left. On the way, Max made sure to clear a few things up.

"Just so know, you are not food or a play thing. I'm bringing you back to make you my mate." "What?" Snowy stopped. "If you don't wish to be my mate, go back now. I respect your decision." Snowy was taken back but, she continued to follow him. "Do you wish to be my mate?" "Why? Why me?" Max smiled, "You are the only one that makes me happy." He licked her muzzle. Snowy sighed and smiled, "I'll be your mate, then. Please, take good care of me." She licked him back. Once at the wolves cave, Snowy was pampered and loved. She often went to see her father and mother. Even after having her own pups. Soon after the two packs became one.
