Kapitel 59: Phoenix
The bird was in the air now and I could feel it's fear, I didn't know how but I did.
"Shhhh, it's ok.... I'm not going to hurt you.... The people in that village are scared of you though because you hurt someone of them." I spoke very calmly and with a soft voice. "The Sky is getting dark though... I need you to calm down... We don't have much time.. that storm will be bad, let me help you... Come back with me where you can be safe... I'll protect you from the storm as long as you don't hurt anyone... Okay." The bird landed on a burnt branch and looked at me. Somehow it worked I reached my arm out and it jumped from the branch to my arm. It was heavier than I thought it's be, but it was gentle and being careful to not cut me with it's nails.
"I'm Megan and the horse over there that's Neva." I said as I nodded over to towards him. The bird brought its head close to mine and then rubbed his against my cheek.
"I'm going to call you Phoenix from now, you can join our new family." I said, the bird seemed to understand as let out a caw.
"We need to go, so we can make a shelter to ride the storm out in, the boat won't be big enough to fit all of us safely inside the cabin." With that I moved and jumped onto Neva, and Phoenix flew above us. When we got back pass the town but an area with trees all around I got off. I started looking for wood and vines and Phoenix followed and picked some up as well. I went back to the spot and used my abilities. My eyes glowed white again as used the wind to lift the boat and bring it to where we were and set it down. After it was set down I used my abilities to move the ground below us. It made the boat sink down until the ground was at the same level as the deck. Then I made another area of the ground sink down. I then lifted the entire area up making a small hill, that way we were high enough to prevent flooding but low enough that we would be protected from the wind. I walked inside the cabin to see Maze who was waiting for me. I saw the clock in the cabin say the time was 11:30. If I would of waited and we left at 10 I'm not sure we would of made it. The waters very choppy now and the wind is blowing and shifting directions pretty frequently now. I think the storm would of claimed me and Sydney, I hope they aren't to mad. I put together a nice hut that was being held together by vines and I pulled clay from the ground to use on the outside and it helped stabilize the structure, I also had the wood sink partly into the ground. I put some of the big leaves we found and wove them together with there dreams and with the vines and made an cone structure, I used some more of the clay to make it so it would stay then placed it on the roof along with more clay and vine to help hold it in place. It was sprinkling already.
"Phoenix can you go get some coconuts off the trees please and bring them here." I said as Phoenix took off to the tree to find them." I made a small fish trap out of the extra stuff and walked over to the river that ran to the ocean. I set it in and set some small traps that would catch animals such as squires or rabbits so we would have food. I also found some wild berries which is what I called the berries when they grew at home, they were the same kind of vine and leaves and shape and colors, so they must be the same. I picked a few and ate some then brought them back to the hut. Phoenix had a pile of coconuts waiting for me. I brought them inside the hut with the berries and she followed. While during my trips of bring it back the sprinkles turned into a down poor. The wind had also become stronger. Phoenix laid on the ground in the hut and curled up while Neva stood in the hut looking out throw the opening. The storm had started the sky light up with lightning quickly followed by thunder. Maze ran out from the cabin and jump onto me. She was scared of it. I finished bring the coconuts in while Maze was under my feet and trying to climb on me. When I was finished I as down. Maze jumped into my lap and hid her face the best she could against my body. Phoenix got up and walked over to us, and laid down next me. Then lifted its wing and cawed at Maze and motioned for her to come. Maze got up and laid next to it under Phoenix's wing as the bird used it to keep Maze close and to create a dark space for her to hide. Eventually Neva came and laid down with us as well. The hours past and I slept there was no change in light or darkness due to the storm so I had no clue how much time had passed. I left to go get the fish trap and check the other traps as well. We caught some fish and then I replaced it and we caught a rabbit then I replaced the trap as well. I walked back and I did this any time I got hungry which I think was about once a day, the storm dragged on and seemed like it wasn't ever going to end. It was dark and cold, the only light was from a small fire we had started and from the lighting in the sky, it was never quiet between the thunder and the screaming of the wind and the movement of the tree and there branches as the wind tried to pull them away.
