Tyrael nods, "I can say for certain that Diablo and the other Great Evils have all been destroyed..."
...
The Archangels look at each other questioningly, if what he was saying is true, then the eternal struggle was finally over...
Imperius "I refuse to belive this! You must show us proof!" he exclaims, feeling slightly at a loss at the sudden unexpected end of their conflict.
Reima "I don't know how I'd show you proof, I did devour their souls after all... Not a speck remains to show you."
...
Malthael "If you had indeed destroyed their souls in such a manner, your power should be proof enough. I can feel that you are concealing it from us."
Reima shrugs, he'd have thought that beating down Imperius would be enough, but apparently, he needed to put their worries to rest. He released his aura, allowing the temperature surrounding them all to rise a couple degrees. He thought about showing some of his Humanity, but realised he'd probably be marked the enemy of Heaven if he did so.
The Archangels watched as flames began manifesting around him, a sense of pressure becoming readily apparent to those who were able to sense it. The power he revealed had not been all his strength, but it currently matched all the angels here combined.
Auriel waves her hand, "I think that's enough, thank you for your demonstration."
Malthael nods, "It would seem that Heaven has prevailed due to an unlikely ally... But, this draws into question on what we should do to the children of Hell." he says ominously.
Auriel frowns, "This again? I believe the humans should be left alone, with the Great Evils gone there is nothing to tempt them any longer."
Itherael "You are wrong Auriel, they are not just humans... But Nephalim, beings far more powerful that the sum of their makings. If left to gain a foothold, the High Heavens could very well be put at risk."
Imperius "We must destroy them, for the good of all of us!"
Tyrael "Do you all not see? If you antagonise and give them a reason to fight us, we will become the sole enemy of the Nephalim."
Imperius "BE QUIET TYRAEL! YOU RELINQUISHED ANY PLACE ON THE ANGIRIS COUNCIL WHEN YOU TORE YOUR WINGS OFF!" he shouts.
Reima coughs into his hand to draw all of their attention, "I hate to barge into your private club or whatever, but you may be forgetting that I, and most of my group are still technically human... If you try to commit genocide against my people, then I'll destroy you." he states.
Imperius growls at him, "Impudent!"
Reima "You want another beating?" he says with a glare before looking at the other angels present. "I am able to kill the Prime Evil with ease, do you really think you would stand a chance? I'd hate to take such an action as I am good friends with Tyrael, but if you force my hand I'll not regret it afterwards."
Malthael "Then, what do you propose we do about the Nephalim. No matter what you say, they are and will continue to be a threat to us." he asks.
...
Reima ponders for a moment before nodding, "How about this... Heaven will form a pact with my Holy Empire, I will connect our two worlds together via a portal and will intervene should the Nephalim start aiming towards Heaven."
...
Auriel "And what would you expect in return for such an arrangement?" she asks, knowing that creating an alliance with this person would be a fantastic opportunity.
Reima shrugs, "Well, I was going to have a vacation here anyway... So, if you allow me to borrow some of your angels from time to time, I think the deal would be satisfactory."
Imperius looks to the others, "We will not accept! This is akin to allying with the demons themselves!"
Auriel "Calm yourself brother, I for one see this as the start of a new beginning for us, one where we don't have to fear the destruction of Heaven... One where we can choose to pursue new goals. I favour a pact with the Holy Empire."
Malthael nods, "It would be wise to err on the side of caution when making deals with otherworldly beings, but, I think the terms are suitable for our needs. I am in favour."
Itherael "No where in the scrolls is such a thing written, but, I believe that such fortuity is fates guiding hand in work. I am in favour."
Imperius looks as if he's about to go ballistic, his fists gripped tightly, causing the sound of creaking metal. "You are all fools!"
Auriel "If you will not make our decision official, you will have to be removed from your post brother... I believe there is someone else more suitable to the position anyway." she says, turning to look at Tyrael.
Tyrael "As much as I would be honoured sister, my place is no longer in Heaven... Just being here blisters my eyes and irritates my skin."
Auriel "But, I believe that your connection with our new ally would be beneficial, I believe your impartiality cannot be called into question."
The other vote in favour of having Tyrael become the new leader of the Angiris Council, its unexpected, but Tyrael cannot help but feel prideful at his new position.
Reima grins and pats him on the shoulder, "Good job Tyrael, now, I'm going to find a good spot for everyone to make camp, afterwards, we can talk about where we want the new permanent portal to go. Have fun." he says, opening a portal and allowing the rest of the group to walk through.
Auriel floats next to Tyrael and rests her hands on his shoulders, "So Tyrael, how about you tell us about what you've been doing since last we saw you?" she asks with mischievousness that could only belong to a doting sister.
Hope you guys enjoyed the chap, if I missed anything please let me know.
