Kapitel 21: Entering a town
*Bump* "Ouch! I hate riding in carriages, they hurt so much!" Tia complained as she held her bottom after the carriage had bumped on presumably a stone in the road.
We had managed to get to the closest road that was near the forest. We decided that staying in the forest where we know assassins are going to ambush us from is dangerous. It still is dangerous for us to be riding in a carriage on the road but it's safer. They probably didn't want to announce their presence to the world with a passenger carriage being attacked by assassins from a nation sent to assassinate a princess despite being in a war. It could lead to international issues and may even be looked down upon the other races that aren't in the war.
When we were in the forest me, Tia, tiger and dragon stayed together as both wolf and eagle scouted ahead. It was a nice relaxation period where we could freshen up after that little fight.
Not much time passed when both wolf and eagle returned saying that they had managed to find a road and a passenger carriage that was parked up on the side of it.
The passenger carriage is like the buses of this world. They were put into use over 20 years ago according to Tia. They are used to transport people from all over the nation from villages to the capital. They can transport close to 10 people excluding the driver. They are also pulled by magical beasts that look like horses only that they have different characteristics that match with elements. Like a fire element horse leaving a trail of fire when it walks.
When they returned we headed off to the carriage to ask for a ride. We walked to the carriage with Tia on my right and dragon who was getting closer to me each time on my left.
Thankfully not many people were on this carriage so they allowed us a ride. This is how we are at our current situation of Tia rubbing her bottom while complaining about the bumpy roads.
"Hey Anna we should be able to see the town soon. It's the closest town to the forest we came from. It's called Serine and it's actually a huge adventurer town."
*Chew* "Ish that sho" I replied with my mouth full of a jerky type meat. I was actually quite hungry so dragon offered me this meat jerky and it's not too bad. Tia had been talking to me nonstop for a while now probably due to boredom but I don't mind. I quite enjoy the sound of her voice and I'm learning a lot of things.
Looking to my left through the open window of the carriage I can start to see the tops of a stone wall. The walls are huge and it looks like there are soldiers patrolling the tops.
These soldiers all carry standard issued rifles and a sword. Even though I'm this far out I can still make out the figures walking back and forth and what they carry. I love these new abilities of mine.
Getting closer and closer more people come into view. Because we are now in Eldran most of the people are elves but there are other races like beast kin. They may not all like each other but that doesn't apply to everyone. In fact many adventurer parties consist of mixed races due to the strengths certain races have compared to others and this is why adventurers are some of the most accepting people there are. Of course not all adventurers are kind and accepting people but they usually travel around so they have to be accepting.
That said though due to the war there isn't as many people either here of mixing together to make a party. The main cause is because the adventurers have their own families that they would much rather prefer to fight to protect than make money slaying goblins. If this war isn't resolved at the end in a way that both sides don't suffer horribly then a situation like world war 2 from my last world will happen.
"Next!" Before I knew it we were parked right outside the gate. Daydreaming can be a scarily good way of passing time. Looking to the front of the passenger carriage I saw a guard dressed in a greenish brown coloured armour that was a mix of a uniform like British world war 1 soldiers and a metal type of armour. It was quite an intriguing combination.
"Hello. This is the passenger carriage that came from the village of Rise. Here's the token to show its proof." The carriage driver showed the guard a silver token that is proof that this is a passenger carriage. The token had a unique design on it and is even enchanted with a specific mana code so they can't be forged. It's complicated so thats the best way to explain it.
*Nods* "Right I've confirmed it, you may enter."
"Thank you"
The carriage then shortly moved forwards as we were brought into the town. The town itself had a beautiful architecture and I can already see a huge lineup of shops.
"Hey Anna we're going to look for an inn then we are going shopping for your clothes."
Oh! Yeah forgot that I was only wearing a cloak still. Well it covered all the important places so I'll make do for now until I can get some new clothes.
"Okay! I'll look forward to it then. I wonder what the clothes are like here?"
I ask as I look at Tia. She smiles then winks. "Don't worry, there are cute clothes that we can dress you up in. *Whisper* also sexy clothes fufufu."
Errr.... I'm going to pretend that I didn't hear that and move on with my life. Is it just me or is it hot here? Nah it must be the warm weather, yeah!
