Kapitel 135: Serpent demon (1045 words)

Somewhere floating in the endless reaches of space is a young planet who had the luck to take a step on the path of life.

With lots of water in which billions of microbes and other tiny life forms kickstart the evolution of life this planet caught the attention of the omnipresent will of the universe which decided to intervene in its natural development by connecting the planet core to another dimension.

From that dimension a special energy alien to the rest of the universe starts to stream into he young planets core and transform it.

After a long time of this alien energy streaming into the planets core a change occurred and a consciousness was born.

With the planet now literally alive, some things started to change, nothing all to drastic, but the average evolution speed of the lifeforms on the planet increased enormously.

It didn't even take a thousand years for the continents to be filled with life, be it in the harsh desserts, Rocky Mountains, or swamps.

But at this point the planets consciousness started to feel a bit lonely so it decided to share this energy which streamed into its core with another lifeform in hopes that the changes this will bring to it will allow them to communicate.

The first and most obvious choice would have been those bipedal creatures that evolved from monkeys and apes.

They already took steps in communication and formed groups and relationships, but in the end the planet didn't chose them.

No, its target was a big and old… very old creature floating in the depths of its oceans.

It was the only being which managed to survive the early stages of the planets developments and has lived up to this point.

A giant, hundred-meter-long sea serpent with deep blue scales and luminous fins.

The ancient creature was the closest thing to family to the planet as it had been with it for over two thousand years, but ultimately even such an impressive being reached the end of its life.

For the past hundred years the serpent hadn't moved an inch in order to conserve as much strength as possible for its final act.

Now that its life approached its end it was finally time for it.

The birth of the last remaining member of its kin.

The colossal creature under millions of tons of sea water coils itself up into a ball, creating an absolute protection for the egg containing the last remains of its species.

Satisfied with its last act to extend the time of its species in this world, the life starts to leave this ancient being and it calmly closes its eyes.

It was then that the planets conscious made its move.

The soul which left the body of the enormous sea serpent got enveloped in the alien energy from the dimension connected to the planets core which prevented it to disperse.

Because this was the first time the planet did this it wasn't able to preserve the soul perfectly and most of its will and the bit of consciousness it had developed over its long life was lost.

What remined was an over two-thousand-year-old soul full of live experience and perfectly honed instincts.

The soul was then placed into the egg the size of a refrigerator together with the energy which the planet used to preserve the soul.

Over ten years pass in which the planet continued to feed the energy from the other dimension into the egg which was protected by the remains of its previous body when it finally happened.

A web of cracks spread all over the shell in an instant, a second passes before the egg explodes and reveals a 3-meter-long serpent covered in dark blue scales and with light blue luminous fins along its spine.

Two pairs of fins that look like dragon wings are located at the upper part of its body while a third pair is located on a lower part.

On the end of its tail is a big fan like fin which the serpent can open and close easily.

Purplish-blue slit eyes calmly look at the surroundings and with each movement of its head the pair fins on its head that look like ears sway in the water mesmerizingly slow.

After it had inspected its surroundings, it started to swim around in the area around where it hatched and familiarized itself with its body.

Thanks to the three pairs of dragon wing like fins the little serpent was fast and had very high maneuverability at the same time.

Except for its body there was something else the little serpent could do.

In order to escape from its egg, the little serpent produced a shockwave from its body that shattered the egg after the second try.

Now while swimming the little serpent continuously produced similar shockwaves which propelled, it around at an even more impressing speed.

Eventually the little stopped swimming around and arrived at one of the walls made from its souls old body.

Without hesitation it opens its mouth and reveals two rows of sharp pointed teeth with two especially long fangs at the front.

The teeth effortlessly pierce through the thick and hard scales of the colossal serpent corpse and the freshly hatched serpent started to feast on the body of its own kin.

It ate as much as it could before coiling up and falling asleep in order to digest what it just ate a bit faster.

After a couple of hours, the serpent awoke and once again started to eat before going back to sleep.

This repeated itself countless times and each time the serpent grew a bit in size which in turn meant that she could eat a bit more.

In order to eat the whole corpse of the sea serpent our water snake spent seven ears repeating this cycle with occasional interruptions at the latter stages when some other sea creature tried to also take a bite.

If they were lucky, they would get eaten in one bit, but if they aren't then their entire body will be torn apart by a powerful shockwave.

In those seven years our 3-meter-long serpent has grown to a monstrous 79 m only one meter shy of 80 meters.
