When the tip of the scepter touched the Tesseract, the turbulent blue energy inside the Tesseract suddenly stopped, and the pillar of light that reached high into the sky faded and disappeared.

The huge space portal shrunk in less than two seconds and then no longer existed.

At the same time, all the Chitauri soldiers, fliers and battleships collapsed as if they were dead.

Everybody was relieved. A crisis that could have destroyed humanity was finally averted!

Even though everyone had extraordinary stamina, they were now all deeply exhausted.

The highly intense battle had lasted for half an hour, and tens of thousands of Chitauri soldiers and fliers had bombarded the place.

If anything went wrong, the entire operation might fail, and Earth might be destroyed.

The pressure had been too great.

If Batman hadn't taken the lead and even destroyed one of the enemy's motherships, they might not have been able to last until now.
