At the start of the game, Rin assumed it was easy, albeit she just started and was playing the tutorial mode where only three grass lanes and two plants to use.
"You haven't unlocked the actual first stage. That's just the tutorial stage level." He rolled his eyes and explain the different stages of the game.
"Then this game should be easy!" Rin excitedly and tapped the screen to put a peashooter in the grassy ground. He bought a laptop with a touchscreen feature since it was convenient and testing mobile apps had turned user-friendly. He used it to test the casual games he made before while also using it to write the novels he would publish later.
"There are many plants you can unlock." He smiled while raising his hand. Finishing certain levels in different stages will give the player new plants to play with.
"The plant artworks are so great and cute, do the plants have a different kind of ability?" Hanayo asked curiously. He nodded and explained that every plant was unique. He added new plants that he thought were useful in the game he remade. Adding the bits of his idea's and also making new challenges after the players finished the main campaign.
"That's awesome!" Hanayo praised him. He slightly chuckled and continued to explain how the game works.
"The game comprised 10 levels per stage, the stages which are Day, Night, Pool, Fog, and Rooftop. When you reached the last level of every stage, you need to fight a boss round that will give a hefty sum of gold and also unlock a powerful plant.." He explained carefully, but it seems Rin nodded with serious thinking while the others enjoyed watching her play the game.
"Hiroto.. you change the sprite again?" Maki looked at him weirdly. During the creation of the game, she helped him make some parts of this game and saw that something had changed.
"Yeah, I improve their artwork slightly since I thought the draft design was a little lacking," Hiroto explained. His art skill wasn't the top tier, so he needs to give an effort in making the game designs.
"Wh-What about the functions you made me do?" Maki whispered and slightly blushed when she asked. There was a part that she took part when making the game. From that time, she kept blushing furiously and got so embarrassed doing it. They will probably form speechless expressions when they reach that point in time.
"It's still on the game and why would I remove that?" He rolled his eyes before explaining to her what he changed to the game.
"Hmm... then, that's good." Maki felt shy and appeared slightly expectant on what reactions they will show later when they discover it.
Everyone looked at the screen, Rin was operating the laptop while Honoka was guiding her on the side. She was lightly shouting suggestions to Rin with an excited face. He saw that they were enjoying the game and felt relieved that the girls had a great time with the remade game.
"Plant the peashooters! There!" Honoka excitedly said while she pointed at the screen.
"I know I know!" Rin lightly shouts and touched the screen and placed a peashooter in one line of the grass plain.
"How about adding one more layer of sunflowers?" Honoka suggested and looked at Rin.
"But that would push the defense in front, the zombies might eat them." Umi analyzed as she seriously gazed towards the screen
"You could make a potato mine defense first?" Kotori suggested as she rested her palm on her cheek.
"The cooldown time for it was slow, it's not worth wasting sun's energy on it," Umi replied to her. She already grasped the game and had a basic understanding of the strategies possible. She told her strategy and suggestion to Rin, who was playing and got absorbed into the game.
"Watch out!!" Honoka shouted while Rin had some sweats on her head feeling the pressure of the cute zombie horde.
"Ah!" Rin quickly placed a wall nut in the line of defense. There weren't still land-mowers in the current stage. He changed that feature so that players have to buy them in the shop, and it will only be available after the Boss Zombie (Zomboss) of the first stage got killed. He made the game a little harder so that everyone has to think and strategize carefully when playing the first levels of the first stage. He implemented coin droppings from the zombie early, everyone asked him what the coins do and explain it to her.
"You can only use a few plants every level but you can upgrade the active slots in the shop. There are other upgrades, and plants bought in the shop. Though, you need to finish the first boss." He notified them. Everyone thought he really tried hard when developing the game, as he had implemented many features towards the game.
"Pew, thank you Honoka-chan, I was able to save the round with your help nya~." Rin felt grateful before clicking towards the next stage.
'He really made this?' Umi mumbled as she watched two of her friends play the game vigorously. She agreed that the game was amazing and was sure that it will hit the market if he released it in the future.
"Can we play Hiroto-kun?" Kotori approached him with her iconic pleading face. Anyone that saw her expression will probably give up resisting what she wanted.
"I'll give everyone a copy, you can play it your computers afterward." Hiroto nodded and smiled. But he warned them not to play too much, or it will be bad for their health.
"Un!" Kotori felt happy and a slight blush appears on her face.
Umi was quite interested in playing as well. He never failed to surprise them, before she remembered what her parents to her every time she goes home. She blushed and looked at him. By chance, Hiroto saw her countenance and sighed inwardly.
"What's up Umi-chan?" He asked and looked at her blushing self.
"Ah! Nothing!" Umi quickly removed her gaze and looked at the busy members that were verbally helping Rin with their suggestions.
On stage 5 of the game, Rin wasn't able to react. She saw her peashooter killed a cone hatted zombie and forget to place a plant in advance. She prioritized putting a walnut in the front lines, but a vaulting zombie suddenly appeared on the lawn. It quickly paced through the last line of defense while she hasn't recovered enough sun's to put a plant, as it heads towards the house. Rin wasn't able to do anything but just gaze with a saddened expression.
Noooooo! The house owner screamed, and a maniacal laughing of a zombie erupted. A sign of the owner's brain got eaten.
"Ah! I lost.." Rin turned sad when she loses the round. She had to repeat the level and pass if she wanted to move to the next level.
"I thought you said it was easy?" Maki joked and questioned Rin with crossed arms.
"Th-That's... ha-ha I just got to careless." Rin stuttered and lightly rubbed her head.
"You must be quick at placing the plants." He suggested the game was easy enough to get used to. The game players had to strategize and use the most effective way to play the game, and that was to line up the plants in vertical.
"But, it suddenly came out of nowhere, right Kayochin?" Rin pouted and inquired to her friend to defend herself.
"Yeah! the vaulting zombie was too fast." Hanayo agreed. Rin smiled and played another round of the level. Nico was looking at them with a weird expression before looking at him, but she didn't speak her thoughts.
"You just started the game, so it's not that surprising." He roused Rin's so she will try the level one more time.
"Yosh! Let me play the level again, but this time I will be more careful." Rin pumped her fist in the air while touching the restart button and played the level again.
'So this is what they had to deal with every now and often.' Nico inwardly thought before loudly said in a serious tone. They told her what he had been doing in the past, and she couldn't help but tsukkomi every time she heard something so ridiculous.
'This guy is an artist but also a programmer!?' Nico inwardly said, but remove the thought easily and looked at the girls.
"We need to practice now! Play the game another time, you are wasting our time here.." Nico said out loud.
"Eh? Let me play for more rounds, Please?" Rin pouted and said with a pleading tone.
"...."
"Ughh, fine!" Nico stuttered before saying out loud, the girls smiled and thanked her. She only harrumphed but a smile appeared on her face. They had been practicing dancing and singing during this week. It was always good to have other things to do to take a breather out of the practicing stuff and it was also to ease everyone's boredom. He had been giving the girls a music therapy, it was to give the girls a relaxing time and sooth the building stress on everyone's body.

After playing for 30 minutes and with his guidance, Rin successfully passed the first stage boss and unlocked the shop feature. As the shop appeared, the mascot he called Crazy Yan appeared and spoke with a crazy hint on her voice, she even moves and used 2D CG graphics.
Crazy Yandere was a black haired girl with twintails. She wears a student uniform with a bloodied knife on both hands. She appears to be cute but her delirious smile and aura were keeping everyone from saying she was.
"I love the way you react when you see me for the first time. I'm Yan the shop clerk here, offer me some blood (gold), the sacrifice shall start at your notice." The mascot girl licked the blood dripping in her knife before a list of items appeared beside her.
"Eh? Isn't this Maki's voice?" Honoka got speechless and looked towards Maki who looked excited about their reactions.
"Your voice is so cute here Maki-chan!" Rin turned towards Maki, she saw her blushing face and couldn't help but snicker.
"He asked me to act the girl's voice, it doesn't affect the gameplay. Don't mind it too much." Maki said while feeling a little embarrassed and shy. She leered at Hiroto before watching Rin selected powerups to the game.
"The ritual had been succeeded, I wait for the next offering. he..he..he!" Maki's deep voice was so consistent here that the Crazy Yan's voice was so on point with her dress and vibe. She felt shy hearing the mascot crazy devoted lovely stuff that she spouted. It seems Crazy Yan was in love with the player and there were even whole effects, bits of flower drippings rained in the top of the screen with some blood in it.
"Isn't this a little bit.... as the time passes she sounds more and more of a lunatic," Honoka said as she clearly forgot that Maki voiced over the mascot.
"Yeah..." Honoka nodded while feeling slightly irritated by the mascot Yan's personality. Thankfully, they didn't stay in the shop for too long and started to play the stage in the dark. Even so, few times Yan appeared in gameplays since she was the one introducing parts of the game.
"Umm, everyone?" Kotori saw Maki getting angry at them.
"What's that I don't get all you, hmpf." Maki looked at the side and crossed her arms. She tried really hard imitating the voice, he approached to pacify her, he could only calm her by petting her head.
"They don't appreciate my hard work.." She pouted while leaning to him.
"Well, it's my bad since I designed her like this. Don't worry, others might not be that bothered with her." He said. Maki nodded understanding him.
She looked at the girls and saw Umi that had been silent for a while with a weird expression as she looks towards them huddling with each other. Umi realized that Maki saw her gazing as she instantly tilted her head to the side with a slightly blushing face.
'Maki saw me.' Umi sighed in relief as Maki didn't pursue to ask her.
"Eh?" Maki had an inkling of what she was looking to.
"What's up?" Hiroto heard her weird reaction.
'Is she?'
"Nothing, I just thought of something." Maki shooked her head. Hiroto didn't pursue the topic and thought of what he would do with the game. The remade version was already finished and he was deciding on how to publish it.
"Where do you think should I publish it?" He asked her who was thinking about something. She removed her contemplating expression before looking at him.
"Eh? You can just publish it on mobile phones?" Maki suggested. Since he had published casual games for mobile phones already, she thought why not do it for this game as well. Listening to her argument. He decides that he will port it towards mobile devices. The license for publishing games at the trusted game stores for mobile phones only costed a little.
He doesn't like adverts so he won't add any advertisement even if it paid well. The game won't be free, and it will cost 500 yen. It's a complete game readily available for mobile devices, so he didn't think much about advertising since he will kickstart its download fever at his streams.
'It should be easy.'
