6.74% Scar: What Really Matters (Deleted) / Chapter 5: 5. Chores

Kapitel 5: 5. Chores

Jay went home immediately after school ended. This time, he planned to sleep earlier, so he directly went to sleep. Randy is still not home.

After an hour of sleep, Jay woke up. He wanted to sleep more, but his body refuses. Jay headed downstairs to prepare for dinner.

Usually, Randy would always be home around six pm, so Jay is always the one who cooks their food for dinner. Cooking is something he learned to do when he is young. Previously, before his sister graduated from his high school, she is the one who always cook. His sister is now in first year college, taking a degree in computer programming, which the university of San Francisco doesn't have.

Right now, he is cooking one of his favorite dish, which his sister called Yellow Rice. After the rice was cooked, he prepared three medium-sized eggs and some ingredients.

He heated the frying pan with cooking oil in it and start putting the cooked rice in it. After a couple of minutes, he mixed the eggs in it, giving the rice a bit of a golden color. After making sure it was ready, he transferred the rice in a bowl, ready to eat. He also started boiling some beans.

After the beans was half-boiled, he transferred it to the frying pan to fry it. Jay was satisfied with the results and had the fried beans in a plate.

Jay didn't forget to wash the utensils used. He also proceeded to sweep the floor while hearing the news on TV. Currently, he is hearing some matters regarding gangsters and government issues.

Jay was also thankful since their house is located in a neighborhood with few houses in it. Although the city of San Francisco is a populous place, there are still some places where people are few. It only begins to become populous for about five hundred meters from the place where Jay lives.

The door opened and Randy entered, looking tired, clearly exhausted from work.

"Rest a bit Dad, dinner is ready", Jay said while boiling some drinking water.

"Thanks Jay. I didn't expect to handle many papers today, so my eyes are so tired that I want to sleep."

Randy sat on the couch, watching TV, while Jay is preparing the plates.

The two had a nice meal together while talking mostly about school and other matters. When Jay was young, he made sure to get closer with Randy, and eventually, he and his sister calls him father.

"It seems you learned a lot from your sister about cooking", Randy said. Randy was quite pleased with the meal, and didn't forget to compliment Jay.

"Well, I figured out that once she will be away from home, I will mostly be the one to do the chores here , cooking included". Jay replied. His response elicited a chuckle from Randy.

After the meal, Jay washed the plates, and Randy headed to his room to sleep. There are a total of four bedrooms in the house, each having their own room, Jay's sister included, and an extra room for visitors. All of these four room are in the second floor of the two-storey house. Surrounding the second storey is a balcony wide enough for three people to walk through. The first storey consists of the kitchen, the living room, and the bathroom. Besides the living room is the stairway going upstairs, and connected to bathroom is a storage room.

After Jay had done all his chores, he went to his room to go continue watching some of his favorite shows.
