Kapitel 47: Chapter 46 - Wrong target

It took some time convincing Hina and Himari that it was better for him to travel alone. But, after two weeks, he's finally managed to leave the village.

With a map in hand, Ernie started his journey into the land of fire.

He knew this is where a large majority of the story takes place in Naruto, and he was curious to see how things were. The distance between his village and the land of fire wasn't very long, just a mere two days.

For others, it might be longer but Ernie was moving at an incredible pace. Barely taking time to rest.

The land of fire was different from the land of earth. There was more life growing here and plenty of places to hide.

There was no set place in this land he wanted to visit, but he was curious about a few things. It wasn't as if he knew the location of the Uchiha clan or the Senju clan. However, he knew that both clans resided somewhere here.

'A fire?'

Ernie thought to himself as he saw six different clouds of black smoke rising into the sky off in the distance.

Below him on a dirt road he could hear the footsteps of someone approaching at a rapid pace. It wasn't long before he saw a woman carrying a child in her arms. She was running and panting heavily. Glancing over her shoulders a few times, made Ernie curious as to what was going on.

He was hiding himself in the tree's, and the woman didn't sense him at all.

Seeing the direction she came from, Ernie hurried along.

As for the woman and child, he left them alone.

In a normal situation he would stop and ask them what was going on, but he didn't have the heart to ask right now. Clearly the woman was running for her life.

The further he weaved through the trees along the dirt road, the closer he got to the black smoke.

'So it was a fire.'

Ernie said to himself as he saw a small village blazing.

There were a few dead bodies outside of the village, most burned to a crisp others looked to be killed by kunai or shuriken. Ernie's body flickered and he appeared next to a corpse. Looking at the body closely he could see they died swiftly.

His eyebrows furrowed as his body vanished.

Two kunai landed on the spot Ernie was standing.

A man clicked his tongue as he retrieved his kunai from the ground.

"One got away."

He said as four more figures appeared next to him.

"Who got away?"

Ernie asked as he materialized behind the five men.

Sensing Ernie behind them, the five of them quickly dispersed to gain distance. Ernie looked down and noticed they left behind a paper scroll that was inscribed with writing.

Realizing what they were, Ernie created a small ice dome to cover them. It didn't stop the explosion from happening, but it did keep it contained.

Seeing that Ernie was still alive, each of the five men snorted.

"Didn't realize this village had a skilled ninja. Seems our information was wrong."

"Enough talking, just deal with him!"

Ernie's cold blue eyes glared at the five of them.

"I don't know who you think I am, but you've picked the wrong opponent."

Three ice needles appeared in Ernie's hand and with a swift motion of his hand, they flew out at an extreme speed. At the same time, Ernie's body vanished as he quickly approached one of the men.

His eyes were scanning the area and taking in everything that was happening within seconds. His ice needles managed to piece one man, while the other one deflected it. Two other ninja were shooting fireballs in his direction.

"Wind Breaker!"

Ernie's palm struck the man in the middle of his chest. His body folded as he coughed up a mouthful of blood.

With his free hand, Ernie used it to create various hand signs and a wall of wind was created. The two fireballs struck the wind wall instead of Ernie.

Slamming his hand against the ground, a giant spike of ice rose from the ground and pierced another man in the back.

"Rising Spike!"

Seeing how their comrades were being killed one after the other, the two men realized how dangerous Ernie was. They quickly retreated.

"Don't even think about it."

Ernie said coldly.

Raising his hand in the direction of both ninja, the ground started to freeze. Soon, the ice that was spreading on the ground at a rapid pace found itself attached to both ninja. They were stuck and couldn't move.

Clenching his fist, one man was encased in an ice coffin. Upon closing, the man screamed as blood flowed out of the holes in the ice coffin.

Now there was only one man left, his legs were frozen and he had no where to go. Sweat dripped down his face at a rapid pace and his heart felt like it would jump out of his chest at any moment.

"Please spare me!"

Shouting towards Ernie the man kept hitting his frozen leg. He watched Ernie slowly walk over towards him, and with each step his actions got faster. Banging his hands against his leg, he hoped the ice would break. As long as it did before Ernie got to him, then he could escape.

"Are you the ones who burned this village?"

Ernie asked him.

The man utterly terrified by Ernie's cold gaze started to stutter.

"W-w-we were j-just following orders! Y-you u-understand right?"

Ernie placed his hand on the mans shivering shoulder.

"Relax, i'm going to let you go after you tell me what I want to know."

Hearing Ernie's calm voice, calmed down a little bit.

"Really?"

Ernie nodded.

"Yes, really."

Ernie told him with a smile.
