"Please guide us!" The ghosts, spirits, and semi-demons kowtow in front of her. "We have been stuck here for a long time."

"But why?" Wakana raises her hands, gesturing them toward the bridge. "It's right here!"

How could they not see it? All they have to do is climb the steps and cross over it.

"We can't see it." They weep on the ground. "We lost our chances and now, we can never see it. The only way to cross over is to swim across the river."

She looks at the river. Melting faces rise from the surface of the river, howling in her direction as they dissipate into vapour. What is the temperature of the water? Is there a volcano beneath it?
