Kapitel 123: What are the forsaken ones?

The spirit parade captures any stray ghost that it finds on the way. The spirits engulf ghosts. Some of them also offer her the pieces of the soul. Wakana shakes her head. She's definitely not comfortable with eating another soul.

"Leave her alone." Gumi shouts at the young spirits, "She's a new one. She will act like a human for some time."

Well… Wakana sighs. She's a vegetarian, okay? How could a ghost eat another ghost without committing cannibalism? Nevertheless, Wakana looks around. The terrain has changed. There's no longer concrete buildings or lively trees around her. Concrete roads have turned into dirt roads. In the distance, she can hear the sound of the river. 

Wakana wonders if they reached the river already.

"It's not far." A spirit with long twisted black horns tells her, "When you reach the shore, don't get tempted by the call of the river. Once you cross the river, you will either meet Yama or go to the rebirth cycle again."
