Chapter 1. Rebirth (1)
"Wake up, Ren. Wake up. It's already 10."
Ren barely opened his hazy eyes when he heard someone calling him. He didn't want to wake up as he was really tired from writing articles but the hand which was shaking his body was not stopping at all.
"Umm, who is it?"
Ren rubbed his eyes as he got up. He was sure that he had slept in the office but he could feel a soft feeling on his back like he was sleeping on a bed.
As he soon as Ren got up, he looked around and the scene that greeted him shocked him. He was not in his office but a bedroom and there was a middle aged woman standing beside him.
"Who are you? Where is this place? What is happening?"
"Ren, you didn't saw a dream right. What are you blabbering. I am your mother. Stop joking and playing around."
"Mother?"
As soon as Ren said that word, he got shocked involuntarily as countless memories started flowing in his head.
The time he was born…..
His first day at school...
His first friend....
His first crush.....
All those memories flowed in his head. It didn't cause him any pain but he felt somewhat heavy in his head. It was like he was seeing his whole life in just a split second.
He now also recognised the woman in front of him. She was his mother.
"Mother"
"You finally remembered me. Now, wake up and wash yourself. It's already 10. You are now a third year high school student, you should study for a bit."
His mother said as she left the room but Ren's mind was in a mess.
What his mother said was right, his name was Amano Ren, he was a third year high school student who is going to take his university exams this year.
But Ren clearly remembered sleeping in his office last night. He also remembered his 47 years of life. His popularity and his struggles. He remember them too well for it to be a dream.
He was a old man with shaggy beard yesterday and now he is a high school student. It was simply incomprehensible to him.
He even felt that he had gotten a mental disease or he is having a delusion but it was too real for it to be a delusion.
Ren hastily got up from his bed and moved to the bathroom. He wanted to wash his face to make his thoughts clearer.
'My face had changed.'
After washing his face, when he looked at the mirror, he saw that his face had changed. He didn't have the shaggy beard and his face is now shaved cleaned.
His hair colour had changed to black from brown and his face was now at least 30 years younger. His hands and skin are fairer now and he also don't have any callouses in his hands.
'What is happening to me?'
He wasn't able to comprehend whether he was the the 47 year old failed writer or was he a high school student? It was a really messy situation for him.
After splashing water on his face three to four times,Ren was able to somehow calm down. After contemplating for a bit, Ren figured out that he had transmigrated.
There was no other explanation for his situation right now. He clearly remembered sleeping in his office last night but he woke up in a bed and there was unfamiliar memories in his head.
It was clearly the phenomenon of transmigration. As a writer, Ren obviously had read about those novels online. So, he was familiar with transmigration.
It was shocking for him but he don't how but he was able to stay calm in this situation. First, he decided to think of the reasons, he might have transmigrated.
'I don't know why is this happening to me.'
Even after thinking for a while, Ren wasn't able to think of any thing that can be related to his transmigration.
He didn't jump off a bridge nor he got hit by a truck. He just fell asleep in his office.
'Wait! Office! The conversation with Rowling panties!'
He suddenly remembered his conversation with Rowling panties.
Rowling panties had asked him about his wish and he had replied that he wanted to start his career as a author again and there was no reply after that.
Was it really true that Rowling panties had transmigrated him. No, it was absurd. He had to be a god to do that and that will mean that he was causally talking with a god this whole time. It was really absurd.
It was really hard to believe but Ren couldn't think of any other reasons behind his abrupt transmigration. First, he decided to search the SNS site to look for Rowling panties.
He hastily returned to his room and opened the computer. He quickly opened the browser and started searching for the SNS website but what he found was unbelievable.
The SNS website didn't exist....
He tried to search it countless times but everytime the result showed that the site didn't exist. Ren's mind was in more frenzy now.
'The site didn't exist! What is happening?'
He was really baffled by the results when he suddenly thought of the memories he received. He noticed that there was a slight difference in the memories.
The difference was not that big but was enough to make him stunned. From his memories, he found that the the history in his two memories are slightly different.
Ren clearly remembered that the USSR was dissolved in 1991 but in his second memories, the USSR was dissolved in 1989.
He also noticed that the technology and culture in both of his memories was same but some famous companies and brands name had changed.
Like the famous American company Apple doesn't exist in his second memories and there was another tech company called Cube who took it place.
The world famous brand Coco Cola name had changed to Coil Cola in his second memories.
He wasn't able to understand what was going on. He was too confused about everything.
'Ah, can it be that I am in a parallel world!!'
As his mind was in confusion, he suddenly thought about the parallel world theory.
He certainly knew the parallel world theory but he didn't expected that he will find himself in a parallel world one day.
After comparing both of his memories, Ren was pretty much sure that he was in a parallel world. There was no other explanation to his situation.
It was a discovery that he should mention to the scientists but if he really did that, he would be called a freak.
'No one will believe me even if I told them.'
Ren knew that no one else is going to believe his story and he also don't want to tell someone his situation. His situation was too weird to tell someone.
He not only have transmigrated but he also transmigrated in a parallel world. It was really too shocking.
Now, the question was what he will do from now on. He didn't knew if he can go back or not and even if he can go back, Ren didn't want to go back.
He was just a failed writer closing his 50s on earth, he obviously didn't want to go to his previous life which was both tiring and sad.
He can only live in his current body at the moment. Ren didn't felt that he would have much trouble living as a high school student.
He had already received the memories of his current body and he was feeling like he had lived in this body for years.
While receiving memories, Ren had also received the feelings and thoughts of the previous owner.
Although he felt bad for the previous owner as he had taken over his body but he didn't did it deliberately.
After thinking for a while, the conclusion he received was that he had to live as Amano Ren from now on.
Although he had several questions about Rowling panties. He didn't knew how to find him. He wasn't even fully sure that the reason behind his transmigration is Rowling panties. So, he can only give up on that from now on.
'Growl!'
As he was thinking about his situation, he heard his stomach growling from hunger.
'Come to think of it, I didn't have food in a while.'
Ren hadn't eaten last night as he was working in the office. He was hungry and was craving for food. At that moment, he heard his mother's voice from downstairs.
"Ren, come eat your breakfast."
"Ah, I, I am coming, mother."
Ren walked towards the kitchen with a smile on his face. It was a long time since someone had cooked for him.
'Maybe, my life from here on would be nice.'
With those thoughts in his head, Ren started his another life.
