Kapitel 17: 17. The Mask of Zoro

"A full 10,000 feet of runway has been blocked here. Do you see that big plane? That's our filming tool."

Terence Chang looked around, a look of shock on his face, and then he remembered something and spoke excitedly.

As a producer, being able to direct more than a thousand people on site and the coordination of staff members is a reflection of Terence Chang's ability.

However, what he saw and heard after arriving in Hollywood also made this nearly 50-year-old man have different feelings about his country.

As time was precious, the shooting had to be carried out as quickly as possible. Rowan, who had already put on his base makeup before setting off, quickly rushed to the shooting location.

Even so, it took a lot of time to arrange the scene, control the shots and coordinate. John Woo held a megaphone, and his loud voice echoed on the flat and spacious airport runway

"Everyone get ready, Scene 218, Item 1, Time 1, Shooting begins!"

The huge plane began to run forward, the roar of the engine continued to resound, and the rippling waves blew out gusts of sweeping wind.

Rowan glanced at the camera in front of him, but did not deliberately watch the lens. He felt the plane slowly moving forward, drew his weapon from his waist, and looked at Nicolas Cage who was secretly a little anxious.

The anxiety and arrogance of this drug lord were vividly portrayed by Nicolas Cage. He directly opened the door of the plane, stuck his head out to aim at the rear, let out a strange cry, and pulled the trigger.

"Cut! This one's passed. Everyone take a 5-minute break and shoot again."

John Woo's voice came through the headphones, and Rowan finally let go. He held Nicholas' belt with his right hand and met his surprised expression.

Nicolas Cage rubbed his brows. He didn't sleep well last night and was a little exhausted. He took a sip of the mineral water that Rowan handed over and said in surprise "After I left that day, did something happen? How come from that night on, Alessandro saw you like a mouse seeing a cat?"

With a slight smile, Rowan did not hide much. Except for some parts, he told Nicolas Cage the general situation. The kind and dedicated superstar snorted lightly, his cold eyes went straight ahead, and he seemed to have come back to his senses.

Rowan seemed to understand his thoughts. He shook his head and said directly, "It's no big deal. I got the upper hand. Besides, my role in the filming was much more important than his."

With a slight sigh, Nicolas Cage patted Rowan on the shoulder, and then said in a tone of earnest instruction:

"You are too honest. You are kind to everyone, but some people will not appreciate your kindness. You must be careful of their tricks."

Gently touching the tip of his nose, Rowan nodded obediently. He naturally cherished a friend like Nicolas Cage who supported him so outspokenly.

Soon, the filming began to continue, and the big plane where Rowan was sitting became one of the interior scenes of the filming.

John Woo was too obsessed with realism, so despite the cooperation of the Southern California International Airport, he still continued filming for quite a long time.

Finally, all the shots of the Southern California airport were completed before dark. When the crew members moved to the new location in a mighty manner, Rowan breathed a sigh of relief.

As his filming task has been completed, and their work on the "Face/Off" crew has come to an end.

After his role ended on the set of Face/off, he went to meet Mary who told him about the next movie where he needs to go.

"Sony Group's TriStar Pictures invested $60 million to shoot The Mask of Zorro, directed by Martin Campbell. The story is about an old Zorro who escapes from prison to avenge his wife and rescue his kidnapped daughter. He trains a young farmer named Alejandro to be the new generation of Zorro, and the young farmer fights side by side with

Old Zoro. I used my connections to get you in directly but still they will do a basic interview." Mary stated.

"If you pass they will sign you up for a month for $20,000. We both know that this money is not important for you but what we need right now is for you to make na impression just like you did with the crew of Face/off." Mary explained

"Got it " Rowan said as although it wasn't a role invitation just action directing but as Mary said making connections for now is important.

"Mary do you think, you can get me a small role with lines, it doesn't have to be like Face/off but showing my face is important." Rowan asked

"It's unlikely, unless the lead is seriously injured. Rather than relying on luck like that it's better for you to focus on what you can do." Mary stated

"What if the lead actor is seriously injured?" Rowan asked genuinely curious as to what would happen then.

"That has nothing to do with you. Unless you are lucky enough to w in the lottery, the leading male role in such a big production will only go to famous actors. It's daytime now, and at night you can fantasize about playing the leading male role as much as you want." Mary replied in a flat voice.

"All right."

Rowan smacked his lips, gave up his fantasy, started his beloved business car and set off.

Rowan don't know if it's for the South American/Southern European market or for realistic considerations.

Director Martin Campbell respected the original novel "The Curse of Capistrano" and chose to shoot the film in Mexico against the backdrop of "the Spanish colonial rule in South America, heavy taxes and misery among the people."

Rowan had to take a plane.

A few hours later, Rowan arrived in Guaymas, a port city in Sonora state in north-western Mexico.

After sitting on the bus for several hours, he finally arrived at his destination.

Located in the Churubusco neighborhood of Mexico City, the Churubusco Film Studios is the oldest and largest in Latin America.

"It's a remote place."

Stretching his stiff body, Rowan raised his hands to block the sunlight and squinted his eyes to look at the movie city.

The place is not big but it has everything.

Although it is winter here, the sunlight is very dazzling. And it's dry. A few hours after landing, Rowan could already feel his skin starting to dry out.

"Luckily, Mary reminded me!"

Rowan quickly took out the moisturizing cream that the female teacher had stuffed into his hand.

He doesn't like to wipe things, but the weather is too dry to bear.

"Where is the person who was going to pick me up?"

After taking protection, Rowan looked around but didn't find any one. Rowan was wondering when a black business car drove over.

A sturdy man with a crew cut came down from the cab and held up a sign with "Rowan" written on it.

Judging from the look alone, it is most likely some other action director.

Rowan walked over: "I am Rowan."

"Come up."

The burly man put away the sign, patted the business car next to him, and shook his head at Rowan.

Rowan dragged the suitcase to the back and sat in the passenger seat.

While fastening his seat belt, Rohan heard the burly man say, "I have bad news for you. Director Martin Campbell is in the hospital with bronchitis. We have to move to Tlaxcala, east of Mexico City."

Rowan nodded his head in all seriousness "It's bad news indeed."

Hollywood also talks about a good start. The director got sick right away, which was not a good sign.

Rowam asked in confusion "How can you get bronchitis in such a dry weather..."

Crackling!

The wind blew, and fine sand and dust hit the front window.

The sturdy man calmly slowed down the car "Do you understand now?"

Ridwan nodded and said "I understand "

It is true that it is dry, but if the air is bad enough it can indeed caus e some respiratory diseases.

"I don't know if I can pass the interview yet. I'll see after I pass this first." Rowan said

"With your level, it won't be a problem. If the rumor is t rue." the Strongman stated

Rowan raised an eyebrow, "Rumors?"

The sturdy man looked at him out of the corner of his eye. "An expert in high-altitude jumping, the founder of a new type of running and jumping sport, an imaginative stunt star... "Face/Off" is a big-budget action films. Some of these things are big news in the industry. You are now very famous in our industry."

'It turns out that it is already famous... But how did it happen so fast. Did Mary spread it? If its true than she does have some good connections' Rowan thought.

He sorted out the cause and effect relationship and further understood the difference between an action director and an actor.

There is a greater supply of actors than demand, so opportunities are very important.

The demand for action director s is greater than the supply. Opportunities are certainly important, but ability is more important.

No one will reject a talented act ion director, and big stars will welco me it because it can add a lot to the ir work.

Rowan is one of those things that can enhance the quality of a m ovie and is very cheap.

In this case, because Rowan is a person with extremely high cost-effectiveness and talent, recomme nding him to others would mean tha t others owe you a favor, but it would not be like recommending an actor and then owing someone a favor.

There is no love without reason in the world, so of course I am willing to do things to show my gratitude.

Having said that opportunities are important and Mary is really good at getting opportunities for him.
