Kapitel 3: 3. Coincidence or Fate
"I am Mary Acker, the owner of Flame Entertainment Agency. Did you bring the information?"
Stuart was very reliable, and Stuart believed him. He took out a stack of information from his handbag and handed it to Mary Acker.
Mary Acker began to input data into the computer. She said as she typed on the keyboard, "Mr. Rowan, you are one
of the best men I have ever met, studying for dual doctorate in Maths and Biology. If you add your academic qualifications, the word 'one of' can be removed I am very honored that you chose Flame Entertainment Agency."
"Just call me Rowan." Rowan said
"You can call me Mary, too." Mary then asked "Do you have a part-time job?"
"I just came back to Los Angeles and haven't found a part-time job yet. But I have written a book and sent it some publishing house hoping for a response" Rowan said
"Truly! Do you have a copy of it?" Mary asked and Rowan handed her the manuscript of his book.
"Kung fu panda!" Mary read the title of the book
"It's a children's story that I wrote for my aunt's little daughter. I thought it was good so I sent it to the publishing house." Rowan stated
"How many publishing house did you sent it to?" Mary asked and Rowan handed her with a list of the publishing houses, it had the names of all the 1st class, 2nd class and ever 3rd class publishing houses.
"They are a lot" Marry said
"Yeah, I just sent it to all the publishing houses in Los Angeles and New York" Rowan said
"If anyone contacts you than you can call me and I will negotiate with them for you while I read this book myself till then I recommend you to find a part-time job. For a long time in the future, if your book is successful than it won't be necessary but it may not even be published so even for several years you may have to do these part time jobs, your actor salary will not be able to support you. You need a part-time job." Mary stated that "Stable income is the foundation for long-term development in Hollywood."
"Thank you,I will find one." Rowan began to think. After chatting for a while, the information entry was completed.
After signing the contract Mary Acker said "Keep your phone on 24 hours a day. I will call you if there is a job suitable for you."
Rowan stood up and exchanged a few polite words. After leaving the office building, Rowan called Stuart and said, "Mary's family is well off right!"
Stuart smiled and asked,"Why do you feel that way?"
Rowan stated "Mary gives me the impression that she is a recent college graduate. She doesn't look like someone who is good at scheming. lf she has such connections, it can only be related to her family."
Stuart said "Very good analysis, my little Sherlock Holmes."
"Did I analyze it correctly?" Rowan asked
"Yes, Mary's father is a core member of the Jewish circle in Hollywood."
"I see, thank you Mr Stuart" Rowan thanked him sincerely.
In the past few days, in addition to teaching him how to live safely in Los Angeles, the friend of his late father also sent him to a professional acting class.
Now he was introduced to a 'young lady' with a strong background. Mr. Stuart helped him a lot.
"No need to me thank me I hope that you can achieve whatever it is you want do" Peter said.
After talking for sometime Rowan cut the call and started to walking on the street, Rowan was in a good mood. After all, he had taken
the first step in his path to Hollywood. Mary's reaction towards him was good it shouldn't take long for her to start looking jobs for him till then he can see if could get a part time job in movie studio. Although the sun was scorching, he was still happy.
Suddenly, a cry of surprise came from the front, followed by two sharp shouts,"Help, help, someone is robbing!"
Rowan didn't do anything at first because he was still daydream and didn't hear the shout as for the rest of the people there no one reacted to it. After all, this kind of thing is very common in the United States. It is the choice of every normal person to stay out of it and not get involved. However, when the person shouted again Rowan heard it and suddenly discovered that the cry for help was in Chinese, how did he know it was Chinese! Because Spawn was multilingual and Chinese was one of the languages he knew so now Rowan knew it as well and he turned his head from where the shout came and saw a speeding motorcycle was rushing towards him madly, with no intention of avoiding him at all.
There were two robbers wearing motorcycle helmets, looking around. One of them on the back seat was holding a bulging wallet in his hand. From the back of the motorcycle, more than a dozen Asian men in suits were rushing towards them Inadvertently.
Since the robbers was coming towards him how could Rowan let them go, he always believed in doing one good deed a day and stopping these robber and helping those men running behind the robbers could be counted as his good deed of the day
Therefore when the motorcycle came rushing over in a flash, and the two people on the bike yelled at the panicked pedestrians around them, while also letting out bursts of joyful roars, right then Rowan moved. Just as the motorcycle was about to cross the narrow sidewalk and plunge into the traffic Rowan's tall figure suddenly jumped out and kicked on the side of the motorcycle in front of the two people's surprised gazes.
Boom!
The motorcycle suddenly lost its balance and fell heavily to the ground. The two people on the motorcycle rolled twice on the ground.The motorcycle slid forward under the action of inertia, creating sparks all over the ground.
Rowan glanced at the two robbers lying on the ground screaming, picked up the wallet on the ground, and was about to walk towards the more than ten Asian's who had rushed over.
When a sharp light suddenly flashed across, and Rowan's heart became alert. He took a step back lightly, dodging the slash of the dagger by fat white robber and rushed towards him before he could stab him again, Rowan struck him on his chin.
Bang!
The piercing pain made the white robber scream, and his fat body fell heavily backwards and fell to the ground in an instant.
But Rowan did not relax his vigilance. Sure enough, the second robber the black man in hood jumped out, pulled out a dagger from his waist, and stabbed it hard towards his abdomen.
Rowan stepped back, then grabbed a bike that fell to the ground and smashed it at the black robber. The black robber only felt a gust of black wind, and the dull impact made him fall into severe pain.
The pedestrians around were all startled, and then looked at Rowan with blazing eyes, unable to help but exclaim in amazement.
From kicking the motorcycle away to neatly and efficienitly dealing with two knife wielding robbers, it only took less than 10 seconds, but the people around felt like they were watching a blockbuster movie.
Some people even exclaimed "Is
this a movie shoot? Why don't I see any
cameras?"
"Are you out of your mind? Do you
really break your bones while filming?"
"Wow, they are so miserable. This guy is so handsome. Is this martial arts? It's so cool!"
"Oh my god, I want to learn martial arts too!"
"Cool!"
Amid the chaotic noise, Rowan hurriedly held down the robber who was about to get up, and shouted to the pedestrians nearby, "Someone help control them and call the police"
Three or four tall pedestrians came over quickly. Men tried not to hide the excitement on their face, and directly controlled the robbers who were howling.
The black robber is especially lucky as Rowan control his strength at the last moment otherwise he would have taken the brunt of the weight of the full bike and would have been broken more than just few bones.
Although there are not many people who want to be brave and righteous, there is always a desire to watch the fun and be in the spotlight.
Rowan breathed a sigh of relief and saw more than ten Asian people walking over. On those familiar and friendly faces, there were also expressions of shock and disbelief that had not yet dissipated.
He stood up, smiled at the visitor, and said softly in Chinese "Hello, here is your wallet, check if you have lost anything."
The man quickly took the wallet without paying attention to the amount of money inside. Instead, he carefully pulled out a lona and narrow piece of white paper. Rowan was surprised when he saw it as it was a check of 5 million dollars.
