After evolving into Meganium, she used the move Petal Blizzard knocking Tyranitar who was already on his last leg, down on the ground as he had fainted taking his first loss. Half the crowd booed while the other half cheered for Ayra as if she had just won the whole thing.
Ayra was excited to finally have finished off Tyranitar who had taken out two of her best Pokémon already. All she could do was wait for Liam to make his next move.
Liam smiled as he returned Tyranitar. He knew Tyranitar was being too hasty and expending his energy so, in the long run he was bound to fail. Liam hoped he would learn from this battle and he sent out his Pokémon, Morteon. But before Meganium could even spot her, she had already passed out as she fell asleep, confusing not only her trainer but everybody within the stadium.
'What Pokémon did this guy bring out for my Pokémon to already be asleep. I haven't even seen the Pokémon yet, how is this even possible?' asked Ayra to herself. But one word woke her up from her thoughts that Liam had mumbled for the first time during the match 'Dream Eater'.
'Oh no.' Ayra thought. She had to wake up her Pokémon as soon as possible but it was too late. A layer of mist formed around Meganium and in a few seconds the mist was gone and Meganium was passed out on the floor as she took a loss for the team but not before knocking out Tyranitar. That was something to be proud of.
"Liam wins this round please send out your next Pokémon, trainer Arya" said the referee.
Arya gritted her teeth and sent out her Murkrow, the Dark and Flying type Pokémon. She flew around the sky before landing on the ground looking for her opponent. But the next thing he felt was a strong psychic energy trying to make him pass out. Morteon had used Hypnosis. Murkrow felt it and tried to counter it, but due to being a Dark type he was able to resist.
Since this was the second time Morteon used the move combo, she had no choice but to come out of her stealth mode as she was expending too much energy. 'Wow what a cute looking Pokémon' everybody thought after they saw Morteon. "It seems like it's another evolved form of Eevee," said the commentator.
'If this is a Ghost type then this should be easy' thought Arya.
By now Murkrow had shaken off the Hypnosis a bit and took to the skies. But suddenly, Morteon's eyes started to glow as she unleashed a Nightshade attack striking Murkrow out of the sky as he fell on his back. Morteon pounced on him, this time using Slash to finish him off as he fainted soon after.
Liam had taken another round as Ayra had only two more Pokémon left.
Liam suggested that Ayra bring out both of her last Pokémon at the same time but Ayra shook her head and said, "No I want a fair match." Liam smirked and he said, "Okay bring it on."
"Go Marowak let us show these guys what you're made of. Use Bone club" said Ayra as she gave out her orders.
Marowak charged up his arm and sent his bone as it went towards Morteon who gave a small smile before disappearing and appearing before Marowak, scaring him half to death as Morteon used Scary Face, lowering some of Marowak's stats.
Morteon then went on to use her Hypnosis as Marowak was instructed by Ayra to cover his eyes, but it was too late. He had already fallen into her trap and fell asleep, giving Morteon the opportunity to use Dream Eater once again making Marowak faint right after and replenishing Morteon's vitality making her a bit stronger.
Ayra was regretting not sending out both of her last Pokémon together now and she thought that maybe they would have had a chance to face off against Morteon but if she was able to put both to sleep, then the outcome would still be the same. She did not think too much into it as she returned Marowak and brought out her last Pokémon, Jolteon as electricity gathered around the air.
Jolteon roared at Morteon and sent out a Thunderbolt at the same time. Those two were from the same family and all evolved forms of Eevee so this was going to be a good matchup as they both charged towards each other.
Morteon easily dodged the Thunderbolt and used Nightshade. At the same time, Jolteon deflected the Nightshade with a Thunder Wave as it went through the Nightshade and hit Morteon. Morteon was now paralyzed as electricity coursed around her body. She stomped on her feet trying to get the electricity away, but it was no use. Jolteon charged up another Thunderbolt and struck Morteon.
Receiving the head-on attack caused major damage to Morteon but she still had not given up and she ran into the Shadow Realm attempting to recover from the paralysis.
Ayra was surprised by this and did not know what to do as Jolteon could not follow Morteon into the Shadow Realm so all she could do was wait for her to recover from the paralysis.
Liam could only shake his head as he thought 'I guess we'll have to bring out another Pokémon since Morteon is gone'.
"Referee count this as a substitution,'' said Liam to the referee, he nodded his head. Liam took out another poke-ball. 'This Pokémon it's quite special but I'm going to reveal him to the world' said Liam to himself and shouted…
"Go Mewtwo!"

Mewtwo came out, shocking the world. Everybody there was whispering as they had never seen a Pokémon like this before and everyone that had a poke-dex tried to get information on him but 'Data Unavailable' always turned up on their dex.
The next battle started as the announcer announced the start of the battle. "Mewtwo got into position." As Liam said this, his eyes started to glow while Jolteon too had electricity surging around it as it prepared its Thunderbolt attack.
Suddenly, the electricity disappeared as a psychic barrier formed around Jolteon and blasted him away from Ayra who was left speechless at what just happened. She thought she had Liam on the ropes but this new Pokémon that had come out was way beyond what she has ever seen before. She ran towards Jolteon to make sure he was okay as he had slammed into the stadium's wall unconscious.
Liam quickly returned Mewtwo as the announcer deemed Liam the winner of the match.
Liam started to walk away when Ayra called out to him and asked, "What kind of Pokémon was that? Are you cheating? Is that some sort of legendary Pokémon? It is not fair that we lost so easily against you. I demand a rematch and for us to ban that Pokémon that you just used because it's not on the list for Johto Pokémon or any other region's Pokémon for all I know."
Liam shook his head and responded by saying, "Don't be a sore loser. You lost a match so, go back and train harder. Then maybe next time you can become the Champion." As he walked away, the crowd was cheering for him.
Ayra was upset but she could not do anything about it. The loss was a loss, she just had to move on and try again next time.
The Elite Four members saw this battle and started to panic. 'What kind of Pokémon was that?' they all thought and wondered whether they themselves would be able to beat this kind of Pokémon if they were to face it.
Gary, who was watching the match alongside Ash, could not believe it. Liam had once again pulled out a trump card that he needed to face and wondered whether his own Legendary Pokémon would be enough to take on Liam at this point.
Gary shook off the fear that was coming into his heart quickly before it could affect his Pokémon as he said to himself, 'No I must beat him this time around. It does not matter if his Pokémon are stronger than mine. What matters is that it is all about technique and confidence. I will beat him this time around. I've trained all year round for this so I must win.'
Ash just looked at Gary, smiled and said, "You have to beat me first before you even think about going for Liam." Gary smirked but did not say anything.
Liam got back to his room as he was welcomed by his family and they celebrated another well-fought victory.
The next day announcements came through and it said that Liam would not have to face off against anybody else and he was automatically going to be put in first place and whoever was to win the following matches would get to face off against him. The crowd was in an uproar and could not believe that Liam had moved on just like that without battling anymore.
But the decision that the League made was quite smart since nobody would be able to beat Liam at this stage. They wanted to see who would at least get into second place and have the right to battle against Liam. It seemed like his identity had been put out there as the Champion of the Kanto region.
Now, the whole crowd knew and understood why Liam was able to battle his way through so easily. He had many admirers and many people that hated him but overall, everybody respected his strength, and the League was going to use this as an opportunity to have good faith with Liam.
Liam wondered how his identity was able to get out there, but he did not think too much about it and just accepted the fact that he would have some days off to relax and train until his next challenger was to be determined. He knew that it would be between Ethan and Gary since they both possess Legendary Pokémon, but he did not know which one would come out on top.
If he had to put his money in, he would go for Gary since Gary has more experience and is using Electric type Pokémon against Ethan's water type Pokémon. The advantage was as clear as day and night.
