Kapitel 20: Oak Family(1)

The next day Liam goes to Nurse Joy to pick up his Pokemon and then headed to the Diglett cave once again because he wanted to make sure Dratini was all leveled up and in sync with him. As he was walking there, he spots a guy who looks just like Gary but has different features, and next to him was a cute girl holding a Vulpix.

These two were none other than Gin Oak and his girlfriend Leaf Rosefield from the novel Pokemon Soul Silver making a guest appearance for the first time. Liam quickly looks away and keeps walking, but as soon as he passes, Gin Shadow comes out of his shadow and starts growling at Gin, surprising him. Gin notices a glow in his pocket, and he quickly takes out the silver feather that he had gotten from the beginning of his adventures.

Liam tries to calm down Shadow while Gin is surprised to see the legendary Pokemon Lugia here in Vermillion City when according to the books they're supposed to be located in the Johto region but then he remembered his grandfather telling him about a particular case with a kid called Liam who found a legendary egg on a stormy night. He noticed it looks different from the pictures in the books he read.

Gin than starts a conversation, " Hey Liam, right, you are Gary and Ash's, friend. I used to see you guys are sometimes playing, and Gary told me all about you". Liam responded, "yes,'' Who are you? You look like a slightly older version of Gary". Gin then quickly introduces himself and Leaf as his girlfriend. Gin then ask about his Pokemon Shadow and why he reacted to the silver feather. Liam just shrugs, not knowing what to say about that, but then he gets excited when he sees Lucario and immediately asks for a battle.

Gin frowned because he wanted more info on what had just happened, but he knew he wouldn't get it from Liam, so he decided he would call his grandpa tonight. Gin accepts, and Leaf steps to the side to be the referee for this battle. Liam tells them he only has four Pokemon, and Gin also tells him he has only four Pokemon causing them both to laugh." let's start slow by taking our weakest to strongest out if you are interested" said Liam which Gin agreed and sent out Haunter.

( Gins pokemons have the same lvl as the Pokemon Liam sends out to battle) Liam sends out Dratini, and when Gin saw the shiny Dratini, he becomes interested and says, "wow, that's a nice looking dratini where did you catch it." Liam quickly explains what had happened. Gin just shakes his head at how lucky Liam is if only he knew that this dratini was born from a from an elite four member and gym leader Pokemons he would have freaked out.

The battle started Dratini quickly used leer to lower Haunter's defense, but Haunter just laughed it off while his eyes glowed and started to use hypnotize to try to put Dratini to sleep. Liam quickly ordered him to dodge it. Dratini had already done just that and then moved in close to use slam on Haunter, but when he finally connected to Haunter, he just went right through him, making Haunter laugh even more.

Gin gets annoyed and asks Haunter to quit playing around and hurry up and finish this, so Haunter quickly uses a sucker punch to do some damage on Dratini, knocking him back to Liam. Dratini shakes it off and then starts to use Dragon Rage, which boosts all his stats up and then follows up by using Thunder Wave, which Haunter quickly dodges because he knows if he gets caught in that he would be in deep trouble.

Haunter then gets mad and uses Shadow punch to try and rush the battle since Gin was getting impatient. Dratini uses this opportunity to dodge while Hunter is close up and use dragon tail to blast Hunter away. Then he follows up with a water pulse attack confusing Haunter, and then Dratini finished up by using Aqua Tail, knocking him out, causing him to faint and the first win going to Liam.

Gin gritted his teeth and returned Hunter while Liam cheered Dratini on.
