She noticed that the lights were all out except for her room.
Athena Hexie Wu ran faster.
'Dang I forgot to turn the lights off earlier!' She mentally slapped herself.
'The electricity bill will be high again this month,' She doesn't want her mom to fuss about her excessive usage of the air conditioner, so she reduces her consumption of electricity when she's at home. She sometimes charges her phone and laptop at school or at Sol Cafe or even at at Club Luna.
Before she knew it she was standing infront of their household's gates. Hexie was very thankful of Nanny Lin, the gates were no longer creaky once she oiled the hinges. She locked the gates and crouched on the porch. She was too lazy to get her house key in her backpack so she used the spare key hidden in one of the plant pot beside the floor mat.
She stealthily went inside her own home. After locking the door behind her, she heard a hiss.
She stiffened at the unfamiliar sound. It sounded like a... cat? She turned around and to confirm her suspicions, it was a white cat. With lots of furs.
"Awwe what a cutie kitty~" Hexie cooed, in a whispered manner.
The cat was probably a neighbor's pet since it has a choker on it's neck.
'A lost pet?' Hexie mused.
Her neighbors' pet cats also gets lost in her house, but just usually in their garden. This is the first time a cat has entered the house.
She tried to pet the cat but it scratched her hand and hissed loudly.
"Ouch! Bad kitty!" Hexie hissed back.
'Oof right. The mission! I can't let this evil cutie ruin her plan!' Hexie thought.
"Prepare for a fight evil kitty!" Hexie whispered.
Thankfully she knows how to handle animals. Her neighbors' pets were nice to her, so this was probably a pet from the other street.
One time Wu Hexie was using the road on the other street when she saw a resting calico cat in the low wall. She tried pet it but it swatted away Athena Hexie's hand and hissed at her. The other cats on that street also did the same when she tries to pet them. Since then she doesn't like the other neighborhood cats.
Hexie pinched the cat's neck and was somewhat paralyzed when she held the cat up. She tiptoed towards the kitchen which was thankfully illuminated by the street lamp and the full moon.
She looked at the choker on the cat's neck. 'Queen Elizabeth II' was engraved in the cat's pendant.
"What a cute name you have Queen Elizabeth the second! I am Athena Hexie Wu, not your loyal subject!" Hexie whispered happily despite the growing pain in the scratched hand.
She gently opened the door towards the garden and let the cat out.
"Bye-bye Queen Elizabeth~ Now, go home to your owner, your majesty!" Hexie whispered the cat a good bye. Dang! Now she has to treat the scratch on her right hand.
She really was unlucky today. The Young Master Choi a.k.a. Dragon was back, there was a fight in the club, she got splashed with a red wine, and now a cute cat scratched her dominant hand.
'So kick-boxing tomorrow will be canceled' She sighed and proceeded tiptoeing towards the stairs. Why didn't she acquire a body who have fast-healing abilities just like any other transmigrator?
Thankfully the stairs didn't creak so much. Seems she got lighter compared last to month. But she still winced at the sound of her footsteps. After a few twists and turns, she finally arrived at her room. As she quietly searched for her keys somewhere in her backpack, she looked at the other room.
There was no light emitting on the other room. Seems like the dragon is still asleep.
Once she felt a familiar metal, she gripped it so the keys won't make a sound. Her yellowbird keychain has lots of keys ranging from keys of her designated lockers at the university, keys to both Sol Cafe and Club Luna, her copy of keys to her parents' mansion as well as from the Choi Villa. She has to properly label them now that her keys were having a population rise.
She popped the correct key in and turned the knob. Hexie was met with a gush of cold air.
"Oh no! I left the aircon on too?! Ugh!" She gasped at her own stupidity. She put her bag on her bed and sat on it while taking her shoes off.
"No aircon tonight then," Hexie grumbled to herself.
"Cursed electricity bills!"
She then placed her shoes on her shoe rack and and throw her used socks on the hamper. After checking that her window was fully closed, she took off her top and bra and also throw it towards the clothes bin. Never minding that the bra was hanging on the side. The red stains really looked like blood.
'Damn chest! This girl is too blessed with her front, my back hurts and it's annoying when running. I have to buy lots of sports bra to keep it in place,' she mentally groaned. She would sometimes wrap her chest so that she could fit some gym clothes.
Hexie put on her bathing robes and then sat at her vanity table to clean the scratch wound. The wound was not that deep but it still stung. After relaxing her body, she grabbed her towel, undies and pajamas and went inside her own bathroom. Despite having her room locked, she still locks her bathroom. It has been her habit in her past life and practices it until now. Old habits die hard.
She prepared the bathtub, filling it with warm water. She showered first to scrub the red stains away before relaxing in the warm foamy bathtub. The aroma of the vanilla and lavender essences fills the room.
Hexie was really taking her time, she was bathing for almost an hour. Her hand and feet were all wrinkly and that's when she decided to end her bath.
After drying and changing into her pj's, she once again treated her right hand and wrapped it to avoid contact with stuff. Hexie then got her journal out from her secret spot in her study desk. Hexie was busy reviewing her notes.
The Athena Hexie Wu today was a very cautious person, but she did not notice that someone was inside her room half an hour ago.
As she struggle writing her ideas on her journal, the person on the other side of the room was also busy cross-referencing articles about vampires, and local sightings on vampires.
Double update today yey!
How are you guys during the holidays?
