'Dear God, please hear my prayers. Please give me a little more strength and courage in my next life. On my knees, I bowed to the sky and to the ground to love and marry that person only. Please do not forgive me for taking my own life. I, Xiong Jingfei, will be willing to atone for my sin.'
***Present Time***
"And this is this how the great love story of the two crossed lover came to be. Sadly, this is all the information we have based on our finding." The museum tour guide explained, showing complete disappointment in his face.
He must have really loved the story of the General daughter and the Prime Minister son. It's a famous love story told in Sinwang city. It'll be a surprise if someone did not actually know this story.
"Feifei? Hello?" Xu Suying waved her hand in front of Xiong Jingfei's face, trying to bring her back to reality.
She was zoned out for the longest time when the tour guide was retelling the love story of the General daughter. Her eyes remained on the small green pouch in the display case.
Xiong Jingfei finally blinked her eyes when she realized she was still in an art museum. She rubbed her eyes to make sure she wasn't dreaming anymore. The strangest feeling came over her when the tour guide started telling the story. She saw herself as Xiong Jingfei in the story and watched as everything unfold in front of her.
She shook her head, thinking she must have been exhausted to the point that she dreamt the whole thing with her eyes opened. It must be because of the name in the story was exactly like hers, Xiong Jingfei. But the odd part was that the Xiong Jingfei in the story, her lover name was unknown in history. Somehow, she was able to dream that her lover name was Yang Zheyan!
"Are you daydreaming on me again?" Xu Suyin whispered with slight annoyance in her tone. She didn't want to distract the tour guide in the middle of explaining his love for the story.
Xiong Jingfei immediately shook her head, denying the accusation. Although it was the truth that she zoned out again. Ack! She tried erasing the thoughts from her head. She probably placed the name Yang Zheyan in the story because of the recent discussion about her arranged marriage.
She moved out of the house to escape away from it. But here she was, imagining his name in someone who may or may not have existed in history. The whole arranged marriage must have been really stressing her out.
"Alright everyone, let's move on to the next section over here." The museum tour guide led the way to a different room.
However, Xiong Jingfei feet wouldn't budge as she stared at that green pouch. Even though it was in a clear glass jar to protect it from dust and people touching it. She can tell that the person who had made it put their heart and soul into it. From every color of the threads to every stitch to sew those two colorful koi fish.
"Feifei, let's go! Everyone is already leaving." Xu Suying grabbed her hand and headed toward the area where the rest of the group was.
Xiong Jingfei chuckled on the inside, she felt like a child being lead by her mother.
"The devoted love that you and I once have will never fade. In my heart, I will always remember you and never forget."
Xiong Jingfei abruptly came to a stop and turned around to find that voice. There was no one else around her beside Xu Suying or behind her. She swore she heard that voice coming from behind her!
"What?" Xu Suying asked, looking at the same direction her best friend was staring at. She shivered, the quietness of the museum brought an eerie feeling over her.
Xiong Jingfei rambled through her school bag to take out her tablet and wrote, 'Did you hear that?'
"H-hear what?" Xu Suying stammered, moving closer to Xiong Jingfei. She unconsciously moved from Xiong Jingfei's hand to clutching her arm. Meanwhile, her eyes were quickly searching all four corners of the room dedicated to the love story of the general daughter.
Xiong Jingfei stood still trying to hear that whispering male voice once again. His voice was tranquilizing, it would bring one into the state of calmness.
There was no other sound in the room beside the sound of their breathing. With all this quietness, you will hear at least footsteps if someone was nearby or around. Usually, this place will be busting with people all the time. It's just that today their university booked their entire Guiying Hui art museum for their students. They wanted the students to truly experience the whole place without any interruption. It was only possible because the family who owns this place were the same people who donated the most towards An Jing University.
'I don't hear it anymore,' Xiong Jingfei wrote down to give her best friend an update. So she would stop squeezing the blood from trying to circulate her arm.
"D-don't scare me like that!" Xu Suying hissed, unwilling to let go of Xiong Jingfei's arm. She scanned the room one more time before dragging Xiong Jingfei with her out of that place as fast as possible.
The second Xiong Jingfei was about to step out of the 'The Great Love Story of Xiong Jingfei' room. She heard the voice again.
"A love as good as ours, who will truly understand."
This time the whispered felt right next to her ears and not in the far distance. She swung around, trying to find the owner of that voice. It felt like that person was whispering a love poem to her.
"What now?" Xu Suying also turned around and saw nothing again. She was on the verge of crying because Xiong Jingfei obviously heard something she wasn't.
Xiong Jingfei smiled, assuring her timid best friend that there was nothing there.
'I need to go to the restroom.' Xiong Jingfei wrote down on the tablet and urged Xu Suying to go on ahead without her. She'll catch up once she is done.
"We should go together. This place is..." Xu Suying continued to search with her eyes in every corner in case someone or something was listening in. She was afraid to finish her sentence in case it might come true if she says it out loud.
Xiong Jingfei lightly scoffed, pushing her friend to go on down the hallway where the rest of the group went.
"Okay..." Xu Suying reluctantly let go of her arm. "If you hear anything, just run!"
Xiong Jingfei nodded her head that she understood her instructions loud and clear. Xu Suying was like a mother watching over her child to make sure she never gets into any trouble.
She watched as Xu Suying walked down the long hallway, practically running and disappeared out of sight.
She walked back into the room and headed straight towards the green pouch again. A strong feeling was coming from this item in particular, but she wasn't sure why. It was the first time she had seen this item too.
She walked from one display to the next, having a longing attachment for each and every one of these items. Especially towards this jade flute with a red string tied around it. Whoever was the owner of this flute must have loved it, seeing how well taken care it was. The color of the string was still vibrant and with no scratch mark on it either.
All of a sudden, Xiong Jingfei's arm was grabbed from the behind, "Who are you?"
