Kapitel 66: Thoughts

Harry knew that most of the upper year's wouldn't realise the true trappings of magical-muggle relations during wartime.

Even in his own time, people had only come to have a shallow understanding of the awful nature of such inhumane tactics when Voldemort had been at the height of his power.

But Harry himself had seen such tactics employed in the muggle world on a smaller scale every time.

He knew these children who had been raised at the knees of their parents - learning political lessons from a very young age would pass on his words to their parents on the virtue of him being Hier Black and that was all the opening he needed.

He knew the trouble was from both sides of the spectrum.

The newer generation of purebloods didn't really think about why the older generation was initially so set against the muggleborns. They simply assumed the doctrine that there was something wrong with Muggleborns - and he really didn't know how to get past it.

On the other hand, muggleborns were blinded by the things they had learnt in their formative years and that coloured their opinions against many creatures in the magical world - Sirens, Vampire, Werewolves etc.

This, in turn, led to the marginalisation of the creatures and got them termed as Dark. Consequently, the ministry and some self-serving noobs took advantage of that and posted further restrictions on the creatures.

It was a vicious cycle which kept on repeating itself and neither side wanted to be the first one to lower their neck.

Harry tried to snap off his wandering thoughts and concentrate on the present.

All in all, he needed a single point to target and turn everyone's attention to it - at least, in Hogwarts if not outside these walls.

His goal had always been to lead a simple, fulfilling life with his family and friends but since circumstances conspired to put his family in danger then he would become the sword and the shield for his loved ones once again.

Naturally, a sword required an enemy to pointed against and fought against. It needed to be sharpened and whetted before the final battle - if there was one.

And now Hadrian Phineas Black had found a suitable target for the sword to point against and really people or students, in this case, behind him.

This would not only help curtail Dumbledore's power but would also help House Black see how the currents were flowing and this meeting that had been called was just Harry lying the footwork for his future plans and help Riddle vent some of his anger on the side.

He started, "Well, the perpetrators of these disturbances have the same thing to say. How they feel unsatisfied with the current policies or how no measure is being taken to protect what is their birthright. The thing is that if a large group of people are saying the same thing over and over again, it means the problem has been festering for a long time."

A few of the Dark sympathisers seemed to be disturbed by his words and he could see pockets of Heirs talking to those sitting next to them.

Not paying any attention to them, Harry continued, "To be honest, we all can see where they are coming from and many of us have the same concerns but the trouble is that they are going about this the wrong way."

Let them think about his words and try to decipher the meaning behind them. His words didn't disclose which side he or his House leaned towards.

Now to lead them towards his favoured path, he noted, "The thing is that this conflict doesn't have anything to do with the lords and ladies of Magical Britannica. After all, as long as none of the sacred twenty-eight pledges their allegiance, the ongoing war can be considered as an external dispute."

A Seventh year Slytherin interrupted him, "Heir Black, we understand your words. However, as you said, the situation isn't so dire in the country. So, why are you reminding us of all this?"

Harry turned towards the boy and replied, "Heir Crowley, Hogwarts has always been treated as a neutral ground by us all - be it the Dark, the Light or the Grey. However, don't you think that this co-existence is being eroded slowly these days?"

He saw the dawning comprehension on a few faces and smiled to himself.

"I for one cannot allow a person from a minor House to encroach and fester discontent towards us from other minor houses, no matter their inclination towards magic."

--------Line Break--------

Meanwhile, Malfoy watched with horrified realisation as his cousin drummed the entire Slytherin Court with his words.

The other person didn't come out and say his thoughts outright but took nine turns and eighteen twists to lead everyone by the nose and nobody seemed to cotton on to that fact, as of yet.

Abraxas watched with barely hidden glee as Hadrian laid the barebones to bring a storm into Hogwarts.

In that span of an hour where his cousin weaved truths and lies, he found himself oscillating between being impressed by the political acumen of his cousin who was younger to him be three years and being horrified that the other person had a shockingly accurate grasp of human psychology at such a young age.

His cousin didn't seem to realise that he cut a fine figure among the gathered crème de la crème of Slytherin House.

As Heir Black, many Slytherins had always looked up to him on the mere virtue of his family name and because of his magic - after all, magicals were always taught to respect power, but now The Slytherin Court seems to come out of its slumber and take notice of the person who had unknowingly stepped into the race of the future Slytherin King.

In the next few days, there was a flurry of letters being exchanged between students from the house and their respective families.

Harry watched everything with a tight-lipped smile as his words were relayed outside the Hogwarts and as his grandfather sent him a letter asking him what exactly was he planning.

His response - throwing a net and waiting to see if a fish lands in it.

If it does, he would pull up the net to suffocate it before it had a chance to meddle in these affairs.

If it didn't, there was always a harpoon to at least injure the fish even if he couldn't outright catch it.

Heya Folks

Sorry for the delay.

The festive season in my country is fast approaching and now I need to deep clean my house slowly and meticulously.

Damn! I hate cleaning but I have no other choice. I am too tired to squeeze my brain juices to write something readable.

The next update will be on Saturday.

PS. The story crossed into Top 200 for the first time since I started writing it. THANK YOU.
