Kapitel 2: The day it all changed
I stood near the window and let the raindrops touch and caress my skin. I've been a pluviophile, or rain-child as my mother says it from childhood. I could relate all my emotions to rain. It simply makes me happy and excited, at times emotional and teary, at other times peaceful and content. There are days I pray to God, that, if in case there is something called a rebirth, I wanna be a rain; so pure, beautiful, selfless and therefore, eternal. Anyways, I like to walk down the memory lane accompanied by rain, my best friend.
The nightbreeze brought in a few droplets of the drizzle to my extended palms, as if to acknowledge our friendship, bringing me back to the moment. Content of the company, I started reminiscing the day....
This was the day my results came. I had attempted CPT, the entrance exam for CA. The score was very good score and it was no surprise. No narcissism intended, but I was always very good at everything I take up. That feeling of being at the top was my religion, more than that my way of living that got me through everything that came my way, untill today.
I saw the pride in my parents eye, admiration in my little sister, envy in my friends, but I felt nothing. Their words, texts, calls...everything went by my body, like the whoosh of a wind. I stood there as if locked in that space where nobody and nothing could pierce it to reach out to me, all alone, like an empty vessel.
And I realized everything changed. All rules have been changed, forcing me to figure it out, like a remix version of a retro song, like a revived game, just leaving the skeleton, barely enough to recognize the original version.
Does it sound funny ? But I felt so.
