Tanya: My life started going downhill the day after my best friend's supposed wedding day. Me and my husband, Tim, just got home from the venue and felt exhausted. What a day it was.
My poor, sweet best friend, who probably has done nothing wrong in her life, does not deserve that kind of pain and embarrassment. You see, my best friend Lexie, was the ultimate girl next door. She was a straight A student, the cheerleading captain, and basically the all around goodie-two-shoes, Ms. Popular. I've sort of envied her growing up, but my mom always tells me that I shouldn't because all those things are what Lexie have. Her mom died early, and her father spends most of his days out of town for business.
I was telling all these to Tim and noticed that he was not listening. I let it go, thinking he must be really tired. After all, he had to stop Robert, who is practically a 6'3'' giant from beating Daniel to a pulp. But that's not it. These days, I swear, something is off with him. He is like so deep into his thoughts that I just wanted to reach down and grab onto whatever he is thinking and make it mine too. After all, that is what married couples do. You make his problem yours too.
I woke up the next day feeling really sick. Whatever thoughts and doubts I had last night are long gone. I dressed up as quickly as I can and kissed my still sleeping husband goodbye.
Today is a big day at work. We are closing a multi-million dollar deal with Dynamo Energy Drink. In my years of working as Jr. Marketing Manager, this is probably the biggest contract and project that I have ever handled. And hey, who knows after today, I will finally be a Marketing Manager.
I really do hope so. I have been really working my ass off for the past year to finally get that promotion. Sometimes, to the extent of having to stay in the office overnight to review and polish drafts. And of course, Tim is not too happy about it. I'll make it up to him once this contract has been signed.
BARFFFF...

Linda: Tans, are you okay?
Tanya: Yeah, sure. I'm probably just nervous for the presentation later.
Linda: You know what, Tanya, you should probably take a time off. You have been working so hard lately. You know what, I'll take it from here. Don't worry about it.
Tanya: But...
Linda: Shh... now, now. That's a direct order from your boss.
--o--
Tanya: THE NERVE OF THAT BITCH! Take it from here my ass. That's my work! I'm the one who worked my ass off to get everything done for the presentation today while she's out there doing who knows what. I'm pretty sure she just wants me out of here, so she can take credit of my work. Ugh. I hate that bitch.
Linda and I started working at the advertising firm we are working on at around the same time. However, she is really good at claiming peoples' work and passing it off as hers, so she basically climbed the ladder faster than I did.
Oh wait! There's also this rumor that she's not just good at leeching. She's also good at sucking, if you know what I mean.
Anyway, god. My stomach is still upset. And oh, oops. I think I'm starting to get dizzy. I hate to admit it, but maybe Linda was right. Maybe I should go home and take a rest.
I opened the door to our house, but I heard someone talking inside. No, wait. That's not talking. Shit! That's moaning.

Tanya: What the heck, Tim? Really? With the maid?!
Tim: No, no, babe. It's not what you think. Let me explain.
Tanya: Explain what? How you're fucking the maid behind my back?
Tim: It' not that, Tans. It's just... it's been so long. I have my needs, you know.
Tanya: Oh, so now it's my fault for not fucking you enough? I can't deal with this right now. I can't even look at you. You're disgusting! I don't need this. I don't need you!
--o--
Tanya: I rushed to Lexie's house. But then I stopped immediately after reaching the gates. Like, do I even tell her about this? She's also going through a lot herself. Maybe I shouldn't.
And then, the gates opened and there she is...and with a suitcase.
--o--
Lexie: Oh my God, Tans? What are you doing here?
Tanya: Where are you going? Why do you have a suitcase?
Lexie: I'm actually on my way to your place. I need to get out of here. You wouldn't believe my dad! He is still with that Mary-Anne! After what her sister did to me? I just can't really stay here. I need to get out. Oh my God, Tans. Are you crying? It's okay. It's not a big deal.
Tanya: Tim and I broke up.
Lexie: NO FUCKING WAY!
Tanya: I saw him with someone. In our own house. With the maid.
Lexie: What the fuck? That son of a bitch! Let's go! Let's kick his ass! Let's show him...
Tanya: No, Lex. I can't. I'm just... I don't know what to do.
Lexie: You know what, let's get out of here.
Tanya: And go where?
Lexie: Like out of here. Somewhere far. Somewhere not San Diego. Somewhere not California. Just somewhere.
Tanya: Somewhere like New York?
Lexie: Yeah. Somewhere like New York.
