Kapitel 38: Love Was In The Air
Sonal was soon introduced to the members of staff by the head of operations. After he introduced her to the members of staff, he then went ahead to explain to her the full details of her job description.
Sonal listened carefully and jotted down notes. She has a keen ear and interest for learning.
After her job description was explained to her by the head of operations, she was assigned to the anchor of another show, whose show was not airing at the present.
Although she had colleagues of the entertainment show, some were on the field working and searching for new updates while the two that were in the studio were handling the live entertainment show currently.
While the entertainment show was currently streaming live, the anchor of another show was explaining to her and giving her practical examples of how the entertainment show is being run on Mehra TV.
After the live entertainment show, the anchor of another show left her in the hands of her colleagues from the entertainment show.
They were friendly, a male and a female, Sonal quickly got acquainted and later on became close to the other entertainment female anchor, Jumpa Vijay.
They explained to her further on how the entertainment show is being run at Mehra TV in full details. When it was time for lunch, she went with them to the cafeteria to have lunch.
After their lunch break, she worked with them to prepare for the entertainment show for the next day.
That is how it is for Mehra TV, no matter who takes on any show live, it is the responsibility of all team members to work towards the betterment of the show to ensure it runs smoothly.
This was a culture that helped Mehra TV become the leading TV station to watch both at the local and international level (cable).
When it was closing time and Sonal had to go home she bade her colleagues good bye and left except for Jumpa.
She found out that Jumpa's family home was along the way to her the Arora mansion. She instructed the driver to drop Jumpa on her way home. It later became in the future that Jumpa took a ride with her to and fro to work at Mehra TV.
When Sonal got home at 5pm, her mum had not returned. She went upstairs to her room, took her bath. When she was dressed she called Jasmine.
With excitement, she told Jasmine about her day, how she got hired and how Mr. Shamu was fired because most of his documents were forged.
Jasmine was excited too on hearing the good news from Sonal. She congratulated Sonal and they gisted on the phone some more before she hung up.
After the phone call, Sonal came downstairs to have her dinner. As she was about to finish her dinner, her mum entered the house, she was back home from her outing.
When she saw her mum with excitement she welcomed her and greeted, namaste mum. Namaste Sonal, her mum replied.
Her mum went upstairs to her room to freshen up. After she freshened up, she came back downstairs to have her dinner.
By this time, Sonal had already gone back to her room. After Shruti had her dinner, she instructed one of the maids to call Sonal
When Sonal got downstairs, she said, you sent for me mum? Yes Sonal I did, her mum replied.
I called you to ask about how your day went, how did it go Sonal? Sonal replied with a smile on her face, it went well mum, I was given the job.
Her mum replied and said, really, you were given the job? Yes mum replied Sonal, she now went ahead to explain to her mum how she got hired and how Mr. Shamu got fired because of fake documents.
She went further to explain the rest of her day and how it all went. Her mum congratulated her and said, you will now be on live TV.
Yes mum said Sonal and I want you to watch me, it will really be fun. I will surely watch you, I wouldn't miss watching you for anything in the world, her mum replied.
Thanks mum, she hugged her mum and Afterwards they both went to their rooms. Sonal decided to sleep early because she has to be going to work early and she doesn't want to give the wrong impression on her colleagues that she is a lazy worker.
Meanwhile at the military base...
Gevan Arora was in a very good mood that night because Sonal his precious daughter had gotten the job she has always wanted.
How did he know? Well before Shruti slept, she had called him to Inform him of the good news. It was already late in the night so he decided to not to call Sonal until the next morning to congratulate her and tell her how proud he was of her.
To celebrate his daughter at the base, he informed all military personnel at the base of his daughter and her job but he did not tell them the job she had gotten and which company.
He threw a feast afterwards for all the military personnel, they were allowed to feast late into the night but not throughout the night.
Gevan also organised for a friendly combat to take place the next day between old and new military personnel.
During the feast, all the military personnel congratulated Gevan on behalf of his daughter and continued to celebrate afterwards.
Some male military personnel chatted and danced with the friendly female personnel and avoided the unfriendly ones.The males out numbered the females at the military base naturally.
Prakash and his buddies were not left out. After they congratulated Gevan they went to have fun. Pulkit and Sagar praised Prakash that he was sure to be victorious during the friendly combat that would be held the next day.
Prakash seemed to be absent minded, he was in deep thoughts, thinking about his love. Pulkit snapped his fingers at Prakash before he came back to reality
Pulkit and Sagar went ahead to tease Prakash that he should have fun and that he will have enough time later to think about his love.
He had talked about her so much in the past that they could guess correctly what he was thinking about.
Prakash smiled and said, thanks guys and asked, by the way where is Ajay? he was here a while ago.
Sagar replied and said he went to chat with a female military personnel he is crushing on and by the look of things, it seems he is doing pretty well.
Ok I wish him all the luck in the world. Prakash clicked drinks with his buddies afterwards and they continued partying until the feast came to an end.
That night Prakash dreamt that his love was on TV, being popular and everyone was watching her.
Sonal also dreamt during the time Prakash dreamt. She dreamt that she was live on air and suddenly the military personnel who she still could not see his face, interrupted the show by proposing to her on air.
Love was in the air but before she could answer, her father Gevan suddenly came and forcefully dragged him away to be punished at the military base.
The manager of the TV apologized for the interruption and instructed they go on commercial break.
After the commercial break, everything returned to normal as if nothing had happened only that the gossips at the station felt bad for Sonal that Gevan came and ruined the moment.
