As the angel walked further into the vast throne room his brother, Michael, took a few steps forward. Drawing his own angel blade he pointed it in Gabriel's direction. Michael stared down his brother who had stopped a few meters away from him, "Gabriel, please we don't have to fight, just calm down and we will take you back to Ear-" as Michael spoke his brother grew in anger. Despite all that had happened they still wouldn't allow him to ask his questions. So before the archangel could finish Gabriel cut in, "No, you will move to the side and father will give me my answers," he spoke clearly and calmly, not allowing his true emotions to show themselves in speech. The archangel sighed and without another word he unsheathed his wings.
"ENOUGH," a voice boomed, it echoed around the giant room, and throughout every corner of the angels minds. "I will not watch two of my sons fight over the lies I've told," it continued as God stood up and shrunk to the size of a man. Now God isn't what people think he is. He isn't an old man with long white hair, with silk white robes. He looks young, with curly brown hair and a carefully groomed beard, his eyes are soft and ignite a sense of safety. What he wears changes often but it's usually a shirt and vest with smart trousers. As he finally assumed the correct form to meet Gabriel face to face he cleared his throat and looked sympathetically at his son.
"You're right, there is more to the things you brought to us... Long ago, before the creation of angels or demons. There was only us. The entities that created the universe. Me, the light. Asara, the darkness. Eberos, the chaos, and...Gaderial, the order. Together we made up the very elements that govern todays world. We ruled from a city that was made from the combination of our power. The City of Gold." Gabriel listened quietly, taking all this information in. Next to him Michael stood stoically, turning his head to his brother he continued the story. "Together they brought balance to the universe, created the angels, mankind, then Eberos got greedy. He corrupted some angels completely creating the first Demon. Others he influenced from the dark, whispering thoughts in their ears. Those became the Fallen." Once Michael finished the story he turned to God who had his head in his hands, Gabriel finally understood.
"That led to the City of Gold crumbling as Erebos removed his power from the equation?" Gabriel queried towards Michael, who nodded. "But what happened to the others: Erebos, Asara, Gaderial?"
The angel said looking at his brother and father, who suddenly looked up at Gabriel, his eyes changed. They turned much darker and Gabriel felt the aura in the room change. It felt colder...darker. "Gone. I've answered your questions Watcher. Leave," God answered, glaring at his son. Gabriel refused to give up and despite being slightly afraid by his fathers aura he continued, "You haven't answered all of them! What do you mean gone?" Gabriel persisted, without thinking anything of it he stepped forward. Then things changed.
Suddenly, Gabriel was flying across the throne room to the door, the sound of cracking was heard as he impacted with the door. "Move our plans up Michael...the fall happens at the Solstice," God demanded as he resumed his larger form and sat down on his throne. Gabriel glared towards the front of the room, his vision blurry he only saw colors. "Father are you sure? If we do this too ear-" Michael began, the watcher saw him move but as soon as began talking he was cut off. "Do you dare test me too?" God demanded, his voice gigantic. Michael looked down in shame, even he with the power of an Archangel dared not test God.
Across the room, Gabriel lay writhing in agony, he instantly realized he couldn't heal. His connection to the heavenly body seemed weak, faltering by the second, almost like he was being ripped away from his powers. God looked towards the end of the end of the throne room, "And get rid of him, before he bursts into flames," he said calmly, with a hint of amusement on his face. Michael frowned, but as he directed his attention to the Watcher he realized what was happening, "You're making...me fallen," Gabriel suddenly realized, his father was casting him away. At this moment Gabriel felt more anger then ever before, more doubt then he thought possible, "You are...meant to be...their savior," Gabriel spat angrily, his temper flaring, Michael realizing this acted on defusing the situation. He ran over to Gabriel, kneeling down he looked over his shoulder at God's wrathful stare.
𝘣𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳, 𝘪 𝘢𝘮 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦, 𝘐 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘥𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯. The words echoed in a garbled manner into Gabriel's mind, almost like the sender was trying to make sure it wasn't understood by anyone but him. The Watcher glanced up at his brother who without a word placed his hand onto Gabriel's chest filling him with pure angelic grace. The broken bones cracked into place and the Watcher understood what the message meant. He knew Michael would be in trouble for doing this so before he could finish he blasted his brother a few feet back. "I'm not letting you put those chains on me," He hoped the Archangel would catch on, and seemingly he did, "That's impossible your power is diminished!" He replied, taking a few steps back in mock fear. The Watcher turned his attention to God who was watching them with narrow eyes. "They prey to you, beg you for help, and you decide to cast them into darkness?" Gabriel questioned his eyes fixated on God, meanwhile sending a small message over to Michael. 𝘞𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘰𝘸. God frowned, "Your powers are null Watcher, your wings are gone, that was a mere parlor trick," he returned, a smile on his face.
Gabriel nodded, "A parlor trick? Not today old man," With that said Gabriel flicked his hand up towards the window mimicking the action needed to blast it open, behind him Michael understood and quickly blew the window open for his brother. "Impossible, i demand you stop!" God ordered, his heavenly tone blasting through Michael's head, but the Watcher wasn't affected. "I'm fallen. Remember? Your have no power over me." Gabriel said smirking, before quickly running towards the window and diving out. As he plummeted through the air at an uncontrollable speed he realized he wouldn't be able to control his landing. This meant that once he passed the barrier he could end up anywhere in the world. The fall didn't worry him, he could survive it, it would take a long time for him to heal. Days, months even. What scared him was knowing what God had planned, he had heard the word fall mention and that could only mean the conversion of angels.
As he plummeted past admissions he saw fellow Watchers watching him fall, technically they should've attacked on sight, but Gabriel was their Ex Chief and so they stood still, unmoving. Suddenly though, as he approached the barrier the Watcher felt fire. Burning, agonizing fire and suddenly his body burst into flames. Gabriel screamed in pain, the pain made it hard to think and all he could see was pain. His mind was wiped of any thoughts, all he knew was pain. 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘯'𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘣𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘥, 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘷𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘭 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘤. These words were new, overpowering the pain he felt, letting the falling angel think. The voice was right, despite losing his powers Gabriel's body was made to withstand angelic essence within it. It was strong, and fire couldn't burn it. 𝘍𝘰𝘤𝘶𝘴, 𝘔𝘪𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘦𝘭 𝘨𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦. The words echoed, allowing Gabriel to further concentrate. He thought about Jane. He thought about the cases they worked on and how despite her tough outside, she needed him. Gabriel remembered crossing the Demonic Fire in his dream state and realized the pain had felt similar, but that was impossible. He couldn't have foresaw this coming, but...Myers could.
As Gabriel fell through the air, his wings dissipating into dust, his mind was like a raging battle. 𝘐 𝘨𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘵𝘩. 𝘕𝘰𝘸 𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘪𝘵. The words forced Gabriel to focus. He was back, the fire didn't bother him. He was still confused, how could Myers predict this, and who even was Myers. 𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 𝘪𝘳𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘷𝘢𝘯𝘵, 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱. The voice of Myers echoed throughout the angels mind and just then he realized that he was right. About 7000ft down Gabriel heard the prayers of a little girl, clearly the link to the heavenly host hadn't faded completely. She was crying, 𝘏𝘦𝘭𝘱 𝘮𝘦...𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦, 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘮𝘺 𝘥𝘢𝘥. Gabriel concentrated on the voice and summoned all the willpower he had left to help him control his landing. The last bit of angelic grace left via Gabriel's mouth and surrounded the angel, allowing him to control himself in the air. As he rapidly approached the sky roof of what looked like a barn he was vertical, allowing him to smash through with his legs. With the heavenly fire still raging on his body he smashed through the window and in front of a group of people. An old man tied to a chair, and three men standing around him. All three quickly spun round to see Gabriel, surrounded in fire, which seemed to evaporate as he stepped forward.
As the fallen angel stood in front of them, his suit scorched in places, he smiled. "Right. You guys wanna back away and explain what's going on?" Gabriel said, while staring at the men. "Do you know who we are? Or are you just stupid?" The one in the middle asked, he was wearing a smooth leather jacket and jeans, and had jet black hair. Gabriel chuckled, "No idea, though at a guess. Dumb, dumber, and dumbest?" The fallen angel joked leaning against a post in the barn. The 3 guys sneered, "You're an angel, you should be....You're fallen. Powerless. You have no idea. Alright, the names Aberoth." The one in middle, Aberoth, spoke up once again. Gabriel, frowned, if that was Aberoth. That would make the other two Seron and Levron. The three princes of Hell. A small chuckle escaped one of the other two and he stepped towards Gabriel. Without a warning he swung for Gabriel with his right hand, instinctively the watcher blocked and kicked the demon in the chest, knocking him back. Glad to see he still had some strength Gabriel moved towards the other two, who had now started running at him. As Aberoth got to him, Gabriel swerved to the side swiping his feet before quickly slamming a fist into the others face. A fire awoke inside Gabriel, rage which he had never felt before entered him and without thinking he spun round to block an oncoming punch. The demon frowned, there was no way for the angel to know that hit was coming.
Suddenly, that same demon was across the room, smashing into the post that Gabriel was just leaning against, knocking him out. "Seron!" The one that Gabriel assumed was Levron shouted before launching himself at the fallen angel. Gabriel was thrown to the floor, pinned against it by Levron he suffered several hits, including one to the chest which Gabriel was sure cracked a bone. In an attempt to escape the fallen angel headbutted Levron, making him wince in pain, suddenly Levron was hit by a metal pole and fell off the angel landing next to him knocked out. Gabriel looked to the side to see the old man, now untied offering him a hand. Gabriel took it, standing up he looked over at Aberoth who was checking on his brother, finally he stood up and summoned a sword of Hell. "I got this." The watcher said stepping forward.
In the next room a little girl sat against the wall crying. She had heard fighting in the next room and began hoping it was help but it went quiet all of a sudden. A man who was sitting opposite her smiled. "Don't hope for too much, those guys in there. My bosses? Strong guys, no chance of them getting beaten." As he said this the door smashed open and Aberoth fell through. His sword in the hand of Gabriel who pointed it at Aberoth and with one small hand movement he brought it down on him. Suddenly, Aberoth disappeared. He turned into thick black smoke and fell through the floor. The fallen angel turned round and saw that the other two princes followed in suite, the last demon stood up and with a slight look of fear looked as if he was about to attack. But as he began running, a voice slithered into the room. From every dark corner it filled the ears of everyone in it, Gabriel shuddered and instantly felt uncomfortable. 𝑬𝒏𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒉𝒉𝒉 the voice hissed, and instantly the demon faded into black smoke. 𝑮𝒂𝒃𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒍, 𝒎𝒚 𝒇𝒂𝒗𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒆. These words were enough to make the angel fall to the ground. Overcome by the darkness in the voice. It was familiar. Lucifer.
