Carson blinked at her in surprise. 'Wow, way to be blunt. Why am I actually kind of touched? That's such a weird way to compliment someone. Ah. Sorry, Ivy. I didn't mean to insult you.'

He truly was one of a kind. Who else would apologize to someone who was listening in on their thoughts? Wasn't he supposed to be horrified right now?

Ivy shook her head to indicate there was no reason for him to apologize. If anything she should be apologizing for unintentionally keying in on things he thought were secret. And for all of the cheating.

"If anybody should be apologizing it should be me," she whispered too low for anyone else nearby to hear.

"We should continue this conversation properly in the car," Carson said aloud. "As soon as we finish our food."
