Kapitel 36: Hell On Earth

Ivy wasn't ready to give school a try until Wednesday. She pretended that she was still sick, which wasn't hard considering how wan she looked.

Trying to tune all of those voices out was the most difficult thing she had ever done. It took considerable effort considering how much her head hurt. But she felt that she couldn't miss any more school so she told herself she would get through it.

Carson had texted her when she didn't show up on Monday and offered to give her all the notes and assignments she missed when she came back. He sent her a message saying to feel better when she didn't come on Tuesday either. Bless him.

Wednesday morning Ivy steeled herself for the worst. She put on her noise cancelling headphones and marched out to meet the bus despite her headache.

As they left the neighborhood and got closer to the school things got so much worse. Her vision swam in front of her and she felt like someone was taking a knife to her brain.
