Kapitel 13: Epilogue
"The game's on, though!" Seth yells while Sarah agrees with him as she's sat on, her now boyfriend, Harvey's, lap.
Allie is fighting with Jesse because, " You're monopolizing my Rosie!" "She's my wife!"
Rosie's with Matt, trying to shut everyone up and decide, but they're being too polite and it's not working.
I stand up, "The last person to shut up doesn't get ice cream!" I yell, and there's instant peace.
My sister smiles in thanks, "Okay, so where are we meeting?"
"For what?" Everyone asks in unison.
"New year's countdown!" She says, annoyed.
"Everyone shrugs and I can tell it's ticking her off, so I chime in, "Let's do it at our place." and everyone agrees finally.
"Okay. Then, that's that."
We all stand together as the countdown begins from 30 seconds down to midnight. Everyone scrambles to find their partner. Seth and Allie hold hands, Harvey and Sarah are already making out and Jesse and Rosie are linked arm in arm, counting down. Matt and I are beside each other, awkwardly apart from the group and each other.
When the fireworks go off and everyone kisses, Matt says wistfully, "I'm still shorter than you."
And even though it's not at the stroke of midnight, I still turn to him and kiss him.
"Happy new year!"
"Hap-ha --happy new year!" He says in shock. I laugh and take his hands in mine.
"Matthew Creevey, will you be my boyfriend?"
He nods enthusiastically and I kiss him again as everyone says, "They're so cute!"
