Right now, Lillian was more aware than ever that she was in a unfamiliar place. Every glance, every sound, and every smell was a reminder that she was in potential danger. She could tell from the moment that she came here, this place was different. This reality, or whatever it was called, had her hanging by a quickly unraveling thread.
So she would make some countermeasures.
But to do that, she would have to know more. If she made assumptions without first investigating her new home, she would be gone before she could blink her eyes.
...
So she waited and she watched, until finally, Lillian was now 5. She knew what she needed to.
She found out that the place she was now in, Victorian America, was under the reign of queen Charlotte, who was famous for being a kind and wise ruler. However even though Charlotte wished for her country to be peaceful and united, it was naturally not. There were currently two opposing sides. These sides were separated due to the upcoming heir selection.
In Victorian America, the ruler is decided by a test, rather than being passed down through generations. The two sides were those that wished for commoners to be allowed to take the test and those that wished for only aristocrats to be allowed to take the test.
Lillian's family were small aristocrats that supported the side that wished for only nobles to have the right to the throne.
She had a sister named Ava who was older than her by five years. And from what Lillian could tell, her parents ignored her completely. They had the backward mindset of believing that since they had Ava, Lillian was not needed.
After all the observing that she had done, Lillian came to a conclusion. In order to adapt to this new reality, she would have to become a gentle and delicate lady.
And towards this new discovery that she made, her only thought was...
Well, this will be hard.
