Kapitel 5: Discreet Awakening of Sagittarius

An unusual pair was walking alongside a lake within a remote forest situated at the western edges of the Land of Dawn.

One was an Elf and the other a Smilodon.

They were following a strange scent which Leo, the smilodon, had picked up a while ago while they were looking for a good place to rest near the lake.

As they followed it, they discovered that the lake flowed into an underground cave by the side of a great rocky cliff. Leo approached the edge of the lake and looked back at Irithel, the Elf with whom it had grown up with, and gestured with its head that the scent was being released from somewhere within that cave.

It surprised Irithel that a scent strong enough to be felt from hundreds of meters away existed despite its source being near a body of water. She was now more curious than ever.

However, she also felt hesitant. She had noticed that from the moment Leo had discovered the scent, it had become wary and lost its usual playfulness. This was complemented by the fact that she had seen no signs of wildlife nearby.

She too had a feeling telling her that whatever it was within that cave would not be something simple, in fact she guessed that it was something extremely dangerous.

Irithel decided to trust her instincts honed by countless battles and years of survival within the jungle and stepped away from the place, ready to forget about it.

She had yet to take her second step back when the night sky lit up and the stars above began glittering and connecting with each other.

Irithel was quite well informed about the stars as she had often used them as reference for directions. So she immediately realized that it was the sign of Gemini among the Zodiac which had manifested.

But she was confused as to why it appeared, as she had never before seen something as such.

It was at that moment she felt that the temperature around her was falling rapidly. Panicked, Irithel looked around and was astonished to see the lake which had been flowing moments before to have frozen solid.

As she observed more closely, she saw a peculiar light at the entrance to the underground cave under the frozen surface of the lake.

As she looked at it warily, she realized that the light seemed to growing brighter by the moment. Panicked, she jumped away from near the lake.

Just as she landed a few meters away along with a trembling Leo, the frozen surface near the entrance to the cave burst open.

A spherical object floated out from within, which Irithel realized was the source of light she had previously seen.

There was an ethereal quality to it, emanating myriads of tiny runic symbols, apparently which was also causing the frost, which appeared to be sealing something extremely powerful within the orb.

Suddenly, a ray of starlight fell from the sky onto the orb. There seemed to be some kind of heavenly decree within that beam as it shattered all the bindings done upon the orb.

As the runes were scattered, the orb began spinning clockwise and suddenly moved towards Irithel.

Irithel was caught by surprise and could not react before the orb suddenly enlargened and swallowed both her and Leo into it.

Opening her eyes, the sight which greeted Irithel was that of an endless grassland. A gentle wind was blowing through the place, creating a breathtaking yet tranquil scenery.

As Irithel looked around, she saw a platform made of rock surrounded by pillars in the distance which she discovered was the only landmark around.

As she approached the altar-like platform, she discovered that there was a blue colored creature at the middle of it.

Appearing to have sensed her presence, the creature looked at Irithel.

Irithel was very much surprised by its appearance. It had a round shape, spikes jutting out from its head to its lower back with two short stubs for arms and no legs.But it exuded an ethereal presence despite its appearance.

It suddenly looked at the clear blue sky and sighed, "It seems the Heavenly Laws laid down by him have been finally broken.. But alas, it is too late for me. I can sense that I am unable to exist outside my confines... "

The creature then looked towards Irithel. "You must be confused from what has happened and wondering who I am. Let me explain."

"I am Harper. You may not have heard of me but it was I who saved the Land of Dawn from its apocalypse in the past. Although I did succeed, I had to sacrifice myself in doing so."

With a sad look it continued. "At the moment I died, a mysterious entity came before me. I do not know who it was or what was its purpose, but he split my soul before it dissipated and manipulated the essence which made up my body to form 7 different consciousnesses and bodies. I am one among them."

"I was long sealed into this place and have forgotten the flow of time. I hope the Land of Dawn still thrives. But I feel a bad premonition now that my seal has been broken."

Harper then suddenly looked at the stunned Irithel who was trying her best to process what she had just heard with a glint in his eyes.

"There is no purpose for me to exist anymore. Now that the seal is broken, I can finally be free from my repetitive days and enter the cycle of reincarnation. So I want you who seem to have a noble soul, to continue my legacy and protect the Land of Dawn and rise as a hero in its time of need!"

Not waiting for Irithel's acceptance, Harper suddenly released his full aura, causing astonishmnet to appear in Irithel's mind.

'If he still has so much power being a mere fragment, how much power should he have had when he was whole?!' thought Irithel.

She then felt a sudden connection with Harper and experienced a pleasant sensation as his power was fusing into her. But within a few minutes, the pleasant feeling gradually changed into that of pain as she felt that her body could not handle much more power.

Distressed, she looked at Harper. He too realized the problem at this moment. As he contemplated what he should do, his eyes alighted on Leo.

Suddenly, the power which was pouring into Irithel was branched off towards Leo, filling it with power.

As Harper's strength finally came to an end, he spoke his final words to Irithel and Leo, who were unaware that there appearances had undergone drastic changes. The sky too had changed to reveal the Zodiac sign of Sagittarius despite it being day.

Both were now surrounded by runic starlight patterns and clad in heavenly blue armor. Irithel's crossbow too had evolved into a heavenly weapon under Harper's power.

"Use this power righteously. It has surprisingly manifested as a pattern of the Zodiac. Normally it is a blessing which one receives from the universe itself but.. oh well, you should be happy. Cya!"

With parting words unlike what one would expect of a person who was had been a sage for a long time, Harper faded away, along with the world shattering into fragments around Irithel and Leo.

Soon they found themselves back at where they were swallowed by the mysterious orb.

Irithel stared at the sky, at the sign of the Gemini, wondering if it meant that a warrior has awakened into the Gemini, like she had to Sagittarius.

I changed the timeline and events regarding Harper.

In this version he is an almighty hero with power similar to that of gods who saved the Land of Dawn from an Apocalypse in ancient times but lost his life in the process.
